Bob, take a couple of hours and go through this forum. Most of the strip club reports are in here, even though there are many clubs located in other towns. In particular, there are a few in Brooklyn, IL, but that forum mostly deals with streetwalkers in the ESL/Brooklyn area.

The East St. Louis metro area has clubs ranging from the classy businessman's place to the frat boy sports club to the blue collar "beer n boobs" joint to the flat out scuzzy whorehouse.

It may not be the best, but it is very, very good. I have found Desiree, at C-Mowe's, to be lots of fun, although there are many other great dancers to choose from in several clubs.

Desiree comes recommended from me, too. If you don't have time to fully explore the WP SC scene, I'd go for her. She one of the better experiences.

Visited Miss Kitty's last week - there were only two girls and 8-10 guys and no dancers. Both girls stayed with the same guys the entire 20-30 minutes I was there - a total waste of time and money. At least I got a cold beer!

Sounds like the guy was not even involved in the fight!

WASHINGTON PARK -- A well-known St. Louis man known in the community as "The Rose Man" was fatally shot early Monday at a strip club in Washington Park.

Lee Nixon was shot once in the head after a gunman fired several shots into the club, the Soft Touch Lounge, Illinois 111 and St. Clair Avenue, from outside about 3:30 a.m. Another man, who was not identified, was wounded.

Police said the shooting occurred after a fight broke out inside the club.

Nixon, 64, was known for selling roses and cards inside the clubs to men who would give them to the girls, and also to people in the community who had no transportation.

Hi folks,

Been lurking a while and thinking about taking a little clubbing vacation to your area. The clubs where I live (Evansville) are pretty tame. Where would you guys recommend staying for easy access to the good clubs?

That is very sad. While I didn't actually know him, I knew him. In all of my trips to the various clubs I saw him countless times, as I'm sure most of us here did. Never had more than just small talk. Quite unfortunate. It always seems that an innocent bystander gets hurt while the worthless SOBs that start something get away with out a scratch.

I drove by VIP yesterday, and there were some guys working on the outside of the building. I pulled up to ask if/when it was reopening, and the big guy that I've ran into there in the past said it was reopening in August. The rumor from the girls across the street is that he's the owner, and just got out of jail for trying to kill someone. Hopefully VIP will finally reopen, and he'll get some service to tame all that aggression...lol

You can get room for the night at one of the hourly places in Fairmont or the one in Washington Park that is across the street from Miss Kitty's. I feel fairly safe in those locations when I get a room for a few hours but don't think I'd want to spend the night. But you can't hardly beat the location of the one in WP, lol.

A couple months ago I got a room for the weekend at the Holiday Inn in Collinsville for $50 a night plus tax & fees etc. through the bidding process on Priceline.

Make a bid of $35 in the "Collinsville-Fairview" area you will almost certainly be accepted by the Extended Stay Suites in O'Fallon. It is at exit 14, and Washington Park is exit 6, so that's 8 miles away.

The hotel doesn't have daily maid service, but you can get clean towels any time. I don't care about not having maid service, since I can sleep late and don't have to worry about leaving lubes and condoms and toys laying around. The rooms each have a full sized fridge and a kitchen. I love it because I can stock up on drinks and treats for when I bring a girl back to the room, and it is close to the Washington Park clubs. And if I decide to go down to Centreville I can hop on 157 pretty easily.

Just wondering if anyone knew if you could or had gotten to know c.j./courtney at kitty's? I enjoy her in the club and I am new to this so any info would be great. She is fun in the club with just lapdances. I want to ask for more but I am not sure if that could happen or how to go about asking.

I know Courtney pretty well. She's a doll, and good friends with my fave girl Journey. YMMV in and out of the club, but if you are sweet and fun you can make a new friend out of her.

Two hours before dawn at the Soft Touch Lounge, Lee "The Rose Man" N**** sold his last red rose.

A bullet ended his labor of love.

N****, 64, was shot just after 3:00 a.m. Monday at the Washington Park nightclub where he frequently sold roses. He died later at a St. Louis hospital.

Witnesses told police that shots were fired from a passing car into the club, hitting N**** and another person. The other victim is being treated at an undisclosed location. Illinois State Police are investigating the attack.

N**** was a local icon among African-Americans. For decades, he sold roses, teddy bears and balloons in area nightclubs, lounges and bars — always wearing his trademark red suit and hat.

R&B singer Felicia "Silky Sol" S********** said she hadn't come across too many hustlers like N****. And she meant that with the greatest respect.

S********** said she would see him selling roses at one nightclub then move on to another nightclub and there he'd be.

"I used to ask him if he had wings, because he would always beat me there," S********** said. "He would always give me a rose. His roses were first-rate. They didn't have thorns, and they weren't wilted. He took his time to get his stuff together."

N**** could be seen selling his wares on the corner of Kingshighway and Natural Bridge Avenue, at Martin Luther King Drive and Kingshighway, and in his own storefront at 5*** Martin Luther King Drive.

Valentine's Day was the biggest day of the year for the Rose Man.

In a 2005 Post-Dispatch story, N**** explained why he did what he did. It wasn't for the money, he told reporter Tavia E****.

"I do it for love, really," he said.

N**** didn't like to talk about how much he made. But his longtime companion, Dora A*******, says they never wanted for anything.

"He always took care of home, and we never went hungry," A******* said Monday. "He was a man. All the bills were paid. And all I had to do was cook and clean." A*******, 52, said she met N**** when she was 16 while he was selling earrings. N**** and A******* had one son; he has three other children.

"He probably wasn't making a whole lot of money, but he was making an honest living," said Harry C******, a friend and owner of 714 the Agency, a talent management company. "I never knew him to take a day off."

N**** was a staple at C******'s Select Saturday parties and Suite2fifty club.

"When the Rose Man first arrived at our event, we knew we had made it," C****** said. "When my club closed, he would always offer words of encouragement and ask when a new one would open."

C****** hopes to put together a multi-artist, all-star track paying tribute to his friend.

N****, a native of West Memphis, Ark., lived in Chicago after returning from Vietnam in 1967. He worked briefly for U.S. Steel, until he saw a sign in a store window advertising socks for sale. He took all the money he had in his pocket, $21, and bought three dozen pairs.

In a few hours time he had unloaded them all and found his calling.

Convinced that just about anywhere was warmer than Chicago, N**** headed south to St. Louis in 1971, where fate gave him a sign.

"I saw a white woman wearing a tuxedo come in the Carousel Motel on Kingshighway and sell out of red roses in five minutes," N**** said.

In that instant, red roses became his trademark.

Sylvester C*******, better known as Sylvester the Cat, a radio personality for Majic 104.9, said he had spoken to N**** a few days ago.

"We were just talking about the business, the way the economy is and getting all of his licks, and he said everything was good with him," C******* said. "He was an entrepreneur."

He also was a man with a heart, said Delores D********, 49, of St. Louis.

"He always put a flower out when someone got killed on the city streets," D******** said.

Maybe someone will do the same for him: a red rose, with no thorns. [/QUOTE]
