Thinking about old porn today is like listening to the Beatles. It's not that their stuff was so complicated and amazing when compared to today's crop, but it was first. When you listen to their stuff through the lens that nobody had done music like that, it was pretty amazing.

I think about old porn stars that way. Compared to the films we find easily everyday, they were pretty tame. Go back and watch Deep Throat. Like Harry said, Sasha Grey is probably the last of the "stars" known more because of her jump to Entourage versus anything uniquely amazing about her on-screen porn acting. For that, you've got to think about Ashley Blue, maybe Aurora Snow as the end of the line for real stars. Now we're into the era where anyone who posts a personal video on YouPorn or the like makes the claim to "porn star".

IMHO, doing a "porn star" today is more for the bragging rights than the action. Nothing against those who choose to do it but I'll bet many of our top local provider partners offer every bit the quality and intensity of the experience that you'd get from a "star", maybe more. Speaking of porn stars of yesteryears, who remembers when strip clubs would have feature porn stars at their clubs for a couple of nights usually on Fridays and Saturdays. Depending on which porn star was attending the door fee might be more to get in. This was a big attraction at clubs during the 90's. I've gone to several clubs in Dayton and Columbus ohio to see some of the popular stars at the time.

Remember the Polaroid snap shots you paid anywhere from 10 dollars up to 40 dollars depending on the popularity of the porn star. I've got a small collection of a few like Ginger Lynn and Jenna Jameson just to name a few.

You don't hear of that any more. Plus no more Polaroid cameras.
