From what I've read they BBFS isn't nearly as prevalent as it is with AAMPs in other California locales, but apparently it can happen with some. They seem to be very sticky on the references. Probably wise given past busts of similar orgs in San Diego.

You usually have to be fairly direct with what you want and go for it, backing off when it's a firm no. You'll almost always get rejected if you ask.
