Lower end providers are in a different ballpark though, and they don't care about their reputation or their clients so you have a much better chance being blackmailed by them.

So you could just go into walmart get a $20 phone and $25/ month card and you would be good. You would call this a burner phone but generally they are referring to burrner app (s). Just like Google Voice, etc.

My personal phone has been prepaid for years like that and haven't had any problems so far.
