be careful when you pick up one of these girls. It could be the last thing you ever do.
A prostitute pleaded guilty Monday to killing a potato farmer after she met him at a casino in 2002.
Ginara Marie Moore, 35, confessed in October to killing 77-year-old Leonard Patoka after being linked by DNA evidence.
She pleaded guilty to a charge of second-degree reckless homicide while armed in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
Patoka, of Amherst, was known as the “potato man” at Watertown’s farmers market, where he sold his spuds for at least 15 years before his death.
His relatives said at the time Patoka routinely made the trip to Milwaukee to deliver potatoes to several of the city’s restaurants.
Court records said in January 2002, Patoka had gone to the Potawatomi Bingo Casino after his deliveries and met Moore after she saw him win a slot-machine jackpot. The two left together, records said, and hours later he was found half-naked and shot to death in his pickup truck.
The complaint said Moore told police he had forcefully grabbed her after she insisted a condom be used, and she shot him, took his $1,350 and fled.
Moore faces up to 15 years in prison when she is sentenced on Januaary 24.
