There's a number of problems with type of arrangement from the police / district attorneys view point. First is the providers credibility itself, most have an extensive rap sheet and in a trial situation a good defense lawyer would make both the police and prosecuting attorney look silly for even presenting such a witness. Second, the reliability of providers as we all are well aware of is shall we say, unreliable! Remember we're talking misdemeanor here, not some major felony where law enforcement pulls out all the stops to get a conviction. It's just easier and makes more sense for the police to use their own personnel in such situations. If any and I say this again "credible" monger has information of a know provider working with LEO I'd like to hear about it. JD.
