Point is when you are mongering you need to understand where is the balance of power. Best advice is to maintain a modicum of control and don't give it up. You step onto the Stroll and you are in HER territory. Her or her friends might think it is easier to just jack you and take your money that provide services. But even if you do connect, You have no place to go to date, so you again have to follow her lead for a $10 spot or head in the alley. You want to put a bunch of "trust" in a dope sick girl who needs her meds?

Might be best to fish the girls on Listcrawler and have them come to you, if you don't mind them knowing where you live. Either that or save up for the AMPs where you can certainly walk in. Maybe you can find some girls and uber them over to you?

Haven't heard of it, but I suspect that there is a Uber driver that might take you on a tour of the strolls? That would be an interesting business move?

I used to walk the stroll all the time. It not unsafe but certainly not safe. It takes a fair bit of risk and some times it is worth it but most times probably not. You will have to either look around for some spots that you find safe beforehand or experiment and use the spots the girls show you, which usually come in handy later since they are probably more knowledgeable than you when you first start walking. As time goes on of course you should be able to find arrangements that make you feel comfortable.

Walking though has it benefits as you will be able to get more numbers and talk up girls who are on the sidelines. You might have to go to drug spots and other undesirable areas so it has it drawbacks. Under the bridge before Lehigh is a known spot but they are other drugs spots nearby where you can find girls to talk to. If you want to find a little more variety than those that straight walk up the ave. This might be an opinion but not for the faint of heart.

Unlike most I don't really worry about getting robbed cause they will more likely rob one of the passed out zombies than an alert and confident person. I have been called a cop or more correctly they mumbled it under their breath but I've never seen them do much besides this. The lookouts are weak minded people who spend all day on the same street with no life and addicts are in their own world most of the day. They are less concerned with you than you think. If you do it all I would suggest is same as doing it in a car start slow, walk the ave without picking up a girl a few times then try to talk to a few girls and see what they say. Don't do anything you don't feel comfortable about. Build confident and knowledge of the area as you progress.

But it's definitely an eye opening experience when you smell the funk / urine up close and it makes you question why you're in such a place when you don't have to be.

But if you look around though, there are lots of stores, barber shops, people coming and going to hop the EL. Generally it's well lit at night and during the day Kensington ave is slammed with so many people it seems like Hong Kong.

You now have all the transit cops posted at various corners in addition to all the police who drive up and down the ave. You will be fine if you stay on the Ave. You're probably safer during the day when the stores are open.

The problem you might have though is after talking to a number of girls over the years most of them dislike doing walk ups or don't do them at all because they have been met with some type of violence or sexual assault. One girl explained to me that with a walk up date since there is no car she has no way of tracking him down in case something goes bad.

Basically the walk up date lures girls back to secluded spots under the guise of a legitimate date and switch it up and pull guns or knives and expect free service. One girl that was talked about on this forum had that happen to her but she was lucky as a car came just in time for her to make a run for it as she was about to be assaulted.

If the stars are aligned in your favor you want to meet a chick who trust your vibe and she knows a 10 spot to take you to. Good luck.

Rode thru the stroll last night, there were several girls out. I only ride thru the area from Westmoreland up to Erie / Torresdale (I stay away from zombie land). And I rode through the area both on leisure rides (the bridge shielded the sun), and occasionally as part of a commute. I rarely intended to pick someone up while riding through, but it happened maybe 2-3 times. I remember walking into areas of the rail road with a few girls, which I think is fenced off now.

I never felt especially in danger from the peds while riding (I was far more afraid of the drivers and dirt bike kids), but I also could have gotten away from anyone pretty quickly.

Not sure if this post will help answer, but that's what I have.

It wasn't always that way. Back in the sixties into early seventies. I spent a little time out there back in the late sixties. There was always available talent.
