I agree with some of the points he makes. First off, I want to say this has been a valuable tool in verifying who is safe to see and confirming you are getting what you came for. I thank all reviewers for that. However, as far as looks ratings. I've been disappointed a lot. One mans trash is another treasure and I've seen that here a few times. Nrb Man.[/QUOTE]I've been to PT probably 8-10 times, although not this year (since COVID and probably not for many months prior, as I've kept busy elsewhere), however, I never even KNEW they had a sauna/steam room available, so I'm not sure how often that's going to come up with other customers, and I'm sort of guessing that if you ask for that when you call ahead, it could mean one of TWO opposite things: that COULD mean they know you're a long time client and they'll be sure to take care of you, OR, it could mean they try not to bother with all that fuss anymore, and consider the request to be a bothersome EXTRA effort on their part (for which they might like to be paid). That could go either way, but since PT has usually been run in the Korean-style (focus on services and pampering as opposed to MONEY), as opposed to the Chinese-style (focus on MONEY first, and then MONEY second and third, followed by minimizing effort and services last), I might hope for the more positive reaction to the sauna request.

Regarding the Membership ID practice, I also have, and know, my monger name, initial, and four digit code number, although I never witnessed anyone writing anything on any sort of card. Rather, Mamasan or the attendant would leave to "check" my credentials out of the room, but it was obvious they were looking it up somewhere, either a card or a computer file, as they always knew who I had seen the last time and the date of that visit. Beyond that, it also seemed clear that they were writing down the amount I had paid as well as some of my personal service preferences. In your case, if they still have your credentials on file, they're going to wonder just where the heck you've been for so long! LOL! I would recommend telling them that you moved out of the area for a while, but you're BACK now and looking for a "regular" place to visit. This will build the impression that you may be a more frequent repeating customer and increase your odds of a favorable experience all the way around.

Regarding the fee amounts, the house fee is still 80 for an hour, but from my very first visit several years ago, I NEVER got away with paying as little as 120. I recall that my initial visits the girl demanded 140 at a bare minimum and held quite firm on that, and lately I've heard they've been trying to get 160 (I think because they've become aware that many other places in the bay area are getting that). I dunno how they might respond to you asking to pay the same amount you did up to 5 years ago. If that's on your card, they might go along with your expectations, but the question is if they still even HAVE your card if you haven't been there in a long time. I suppose I would suggest giving them your old credentials and then SEE if they still have it on file, then, if so, let them know you expect the same rate, and see how that goes. Just don't piss the girl off by getting too demanding on rates or services because I can well imagine that the services you would receive, after pissing off the girl with a debate on money, would be lackluster, bordering on outright disappointing.

Since I haven't been there following reopening post-COVID, I can't speak to their practice on masks, but among some of the OTHER places I've been, some of them make a big show of wearing masks everywhere, making customers wear a mask (which they will provide) right at the door, then scanning your forehead for body temperature before admitting you further inside... then once inside the private room, a lot of places I've been will then totally ignore any mask requirements (but not all).

I also never witnessed a Caucasian girl working the front. It's always been an older, frumpy, cleaning-lady type.
