BIRMINGHAM, Alabama. Four people were arrested on prostitution charges today at a Birmingham spa, police announced.
Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department said one arrest was on a charge of operating a house of prostitution. Three other arrests were made on charges residing in a house of prostitution.
The arrests were made just after noon at the Super Sauna Spa at 9019 Parkway East. The arrests were "a result of a long-term investigation," Williams said in a news release.
The department is also working with USA Immigration Customs Enforcement to determine the immigration status of the females at the spa and assisting with "any human trafficking issues that may arise," Williams said.
The names of the suspects were not immediately released.
The real crime aginst the community is this statement.
The arrests were "a result of a long-term investigation," Williams said
Wonder what that cost us taxpayers? $1mm +? Someone must be running for office, or the city and county are getting real close to BK.
Sex sells, what commercials did they run through the teaser news stories? LOL Gold pwan shops, or title pawns.
Anyone ever been in one when it got busted
Yup, many years ago, while in a Japan, partaking in a small cat-house.
They paid the cops off then everything was peachy,
Except my nerves.
Anyone know why SS was picked on?
Well, its been a week, hasn't it? I know there is plenty of time for the other shoe to drop, but I am puzzled as to why SS made the headlines, but none of the others have. Is SS closer to some residential areas, or schools, or a church? I know the others seem to be in strip malls. I'd think there would be more pressure to take care of those (unless neighboring businesses think the spas bring in more business for their establishments (I. E, check cashing establishments).
Anyways, if anyone knows, I'd sure like to hear. Until then, I'll be avoiding.
