Does anyone know the story behind the Archibald's bartenders refusing to serve a courtesy glass of tap water when you order a $10 alcoholic drink? Will the next fee be for a paper napkin request or walking in the entrance carrying a brief case?
Last time I went to Bazz and Crue, on the first lap dance I got, the girl told me that the new price for dances was 8 dollars. I paid my money but immediately exited the premises and will not return. The best democracy is dollar democracy. If we don't take a stand now then eventually they will charge for napkins. Hell, they will charge for the right to sit down like in Miami.
From the information gathered on this board I have stayed away from many clubs including Archibalds. Frankly, none of the clubs in this area are as good as any in Atlanta. I have been spoiled from my time living down in the strip club Mecca.

Macombo lounge
This is by far my favourite strip club, and these days they have some hot new girls on the dayshift, in fact, I like the day shift girls better than the night shift girls, besides $3 dollar budweisers helps to. LOL.

Its gone now). He was one of those who wanted to go cheap. Asked for a glass of water (for free?) but they gave him a bottled water and charged him $5 bucks. Guess nothing is free these days.

No free water

They charge the high prices for drinks, including water, to make up for not having a cover charge. Some of them also have a rule that you must buy a drink after a certain period of time. If they let guys just sit there watching the girls and not spend any money, they'd go broke.

Skylark lounge
It looked closed, was boarded up and furnature out infront as if they were eveicted.

Wow! Rumor has is that is where they are going to build a Walmart at. Skylark had been falling apart anyway and needed to be condemned. Too bad I didn't conquer enough trout out of that place.
It looked closed, was boarded up and furnature out infront as if they were eveicted.
Yep. One of the dancers told me that shut it down last night. Apparently it wasn't handled very well. It came as a surpise to the dancers and "management". LOL. They have been talking about the new Walmart for a few months now. Shame that management doesn't have another club to transition over to. No invitations or instructions to patrons for a new club were handed out.
According to my "source". They're planning a new club like the Stadium club but for the working man. We'll see, they're going to have trouble getting their liquor license renewed.
At least I got my "source". She's turned out to be a real gem. Wish I had more like her though.
Those chiks got to show up somewhere. They all got habits and bills.
Safe Hunting.

Drkrider
The Walmart chit chatter is true. 4 should be coming to the District in the very near future.
Two in NW, one in NE (NY Ave & Bladensburg Road) and one in SE / SW. It seems like they will be trying to tuck it in between the KFC and the Gas Station.
True, kids to feed, bills to pay and habits that will be in need of a regular fix. Chickens will be clucking.

Archibalds
Does anyone know the story behind the Archibald's bartenders refusing to serve a courtesy glass of tap water when you order a $10 alcoholic drink? Will the next fee be for a paper napkin request or walking in the entrance carrying a brief case?
Archibald's has always been a awkward feeling place for me. I first went to Archibald's in the early 90's, and while it was okay, Archibald's didn't stick as a "favorite" for me. About two years ago, I figured I would stop by and and give Archibald's a try again. There are two things that stick out in my mind from that visit. First, being met at the door by some guy that informed me of their policy against cellphone use while in the bar. Understandable, but no other bar makes an issue of that. Second, and more frustrating, was the "shakedown" by the dancers after their set. Apparently, at Archibald's, patrons are expected to provide an additional tip when the dancer "works" the room after her set. If you didn't provide a tip, you could expect a small scene to be made.
That was about two years ago. Once again, since I was in the area, I figured I'd stop by and give the place another try. Met at the door again and beat over the head about the cellphone thing. And, once again, the shakedown. Disappointing.

Drkrider
I wouldn't believe those "plans" I've been hearing all kinds of shit about renovating the spot etc and NONE of it panned out.
Even though they didn't get much notice on the closing (not even a whole day) the owners should've been on top of finding a new spot a LONG time ago. Now once they move it's going to take awhile to build the clientele back up. The good thing about it is, the owners have got some ink, and they have a nudity license so as long as they're not too close to a residential area they'll be fine. They just got to move quick to find a new spot.

Sensations in lanham
Do not go to sensations in Lanham! Boring, the Strippers are lazy, and you have to leave you're phone in the car because management is afraid that people will take pics of all the nothingness going on. The Strippers wait for tips to take clothes off, while the guys wait til they take something off to tip. This is the 2nd time being there in the last 4 months or so, and the same M. O. I see them going out of business soon. Even the VIP isn't really worth it (although I haven't tried the "boom boom room"). Just a lame place some places are cheap others are inexpensive. This place is the prior.

I'm hosting a few guys for a bachelor party next week and we plan on hitting a few strip clubs (if I can't find a lock door part first. July 7th). I went to Sensations yrs ago and had a great time. Based on your review I won't be swinging by there next week.
