Boomer - I think your two lines of advice might be the most valuable yet. Hartford guy's warning is so crucial - but think about what he went through and he considers himself lucky? If you are still picking up SW's, you're out of your mind.

It just isn't worth the risk. Let me put it this way: If you have nobody who you give a shit about; no kids that will be embarrassed or harrassed after your name is in the paper (or any worries about what your kids think of you for the rest of your life); no freinds that you care to keep; no worries about getting cut up if things go wrong; no issues with possibly catching a STD or passing it on to a wife, fetus or girlfriend, then keep chasing the thrill of trying to get the cheapest piece of ass from a SW.

Not me. I'm not an angel, but I'll limit my risks as much as possible and spend a little more if necessary to avoid the life-altering problems that will occur if caught with a quick, rushed, probably lousy SW. Bottom line: even if you "get off easy" (meaning, by some miracle, your family and friends never find out and your name isn't in the paper), it will cost you about $10,000 and community service.

I'm interested in seeing Hartfordguy's responses to Steel's questions. I'm a little perplexed as to why these questions were even necessary. Hartfordguy: these were salient pieces of the story, yet you completely skipped over them. Why?

Speaking of the LE, how active are they in the advocate ads?

The cops don't seem to be active at all in the Advocate. AMPs get busted on a fairly regular basis, but clients don't seem to get arrested except on the street, and you don't hear about it much. Guys in an AMP are generally let go after an ID check to make sure they're not wanted (ALWAYS have your ID with you).

Don't be fooled...We're just on the otherside of the equation re: advocates. Advocate providers get "weird" calls and stings all together too frequently.

In the NATIONAL news today is a story about a Craigslist bust of a group of escorts in the Baltimore area. I'm just reminding everyone to be careful.

Anybody care to speculate as to the real reason for the crackdowns? Do we really think these K girls are sex slaves? We have all talked to these girls. I have never gotten a prisoner vibe from any. These girls are going out on dates with customers.
I know these K girls can act but really! Burnout for sure. Something is fishy here. The feds are looking for easy headlines. Easier than busting into the hood and banging it with bloods or crips or latin kings or mm13 the friggin list goes on and on.
Politics? elections? I wonder.
And why are the local boys locked out on these raids.

These girls are most likely not in any way "sex slaves". The media uses these words because it sounds good to the public. It is possible, hell I will give them 10 percent might be held in some way. However, I have talked many AMP girls and hell, this one recently, who had been here for 4 years (the US) her parents lived right down the street from the AMP, and she lived in a condo up north a ways.

Does not hardly sound like a slave situation to me. Also, think about the kind of money these girls bring in, even if they only get 50 percent of the tips. Definitely higher by about 50 times then slave wages. You never can tell though. The providers are loaded in most cases (though some have bad gambling problems etc.) and half of them work only 1/3 of the year and vacation the rest.

I would say the busts happened because it was a catchy way to get the medias attention, and it is easier then solving real crimes. Oh, aren't some elections going on? Either way, it happened to about 20 places from NY to NC, all up and down the east coast. 20 were raided, and a even larger amount closed by there own will for obvious reasons right after.

Read this news story out of NY, sounds like Z and Bud are on the right track, next thing we'll read is that they were linked to Al Quida and were under NSA surveillance...


VICE OFFICERS CHARGED IN COVER-UP

NEW YORK (AP) Three members of a police vice squad have been charged with breaking into a massage parlor to steal surveillance equipment in an effort to cover up a flawed prostitution raid, prosecutors said.

The officers Lt. Stephen Wong, Sgt. Kwun Tso and Officer Yuseff Hamm pleaded not guilty Wednesday to burglary charges in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn. The officers were released without bail and told to return to court on Sept. 19.

According to authorities, the officers arrested seven women and the owner of the massage parlor on prostitution charges during a raid on the Brooklyn business in April. Wong filed sworn statements accusing the women of offering sex for money, according to prosecutors, who said the statements were false.

The owner of the parlor told the officers that video surveillance equipment in his building would clear him and the women of the charges, authorities said.

The day after the prostitution raid, prosecutors said, the officers staged a bogus gambling raid at a building next door to the massage parlor. During that bust, the officers broke into the parlor and took a surveillance camera and a computer, said Assistant District Attorney Sharif Abdur-Rahim.

But a second recording device hidden in the ceiling caught the officers in the act, said Jonathan Sims, a lawyer for the parlor owner who gave the recording to the Brooklyn district attorney's office.

Wong's lawyer, Peter Brill, said after Wednesday's hearing that the ``documents he filed in connection with those arrests were accurate.''

``We feel confident that the lieutenant and his team had probable cause to enter the location,'' Brill said.

Very interesting reading! I noticed, upon doing a search of the word "Connecticut", the name "Bally Sauna" (perported
as the "New Hong-Kong") popped-up several times in the document. Apparently, it too, is under investigation. (sorry folks,
upon reading this, I was thinking of taking a stroll to Stamford, but decided not this time.)
