2) discretion.

3) "most" LE decoys, or "stings" will NOT get in your car. If the person you are talking to would like to do business with you, they can do it elsewhere, not standing on the street, where everyone can see.

Those are some really good tips, and it makes it sound fairly easy, but, rest assured, doing so, and staying in control of the situation takes some degree of skill. , And I DO applaud any and all good street guys.

Like mentioned above, if at any point you get spooked, just move on. Better safe than sorry.

The part about leaving an exit route came in handy for me personally a couple of weeks ago. I happened to be sitting on the ave where Schiller connects.

When the loser was quickly distracted, for that one moment, with my driver's door wide open I punched the gas to the floor knocking him over as I barreled out of there. Before I reached Ontario he fired at me. Lucky for me he missed, but I heard the bullet hit something metal close by. That's a big problem with the thugs that have guns. Most can't hit what they think they are pointing at. Fortunately for me. That's why the news reports always say there were 8-10-12 bullets fired in a shooting.

Any other time the 7-11 would be loaded with Johnny Law. Not this time. This was a closer call than I care to think. Yet, it stresses the importance of safety and why we need to constantly stay alert. This situation could have had a much different ending. You know, to each their own. For this specific reason, I would never park between two vehicles. My personal safety preference.

So, if we don't do anything for each other, constantly remind one another about safety and leaving a ready exit available. Most of all being ready to hit the gas without shifting into drive. You never know the importance of your caution until you need to put what you know into practice.

You and I have had several conversations over the years and as a monger going back to the late 80's it never ceases to amaze me the incidents that occur. To be successful long term is to develop a radar that supersedes your little brain between your legs. I was shot in Bmore in 2014 in an attempted truck jacking at a Royal farms, unrelated to mongering. My business operates in some of the worst areas in the Midlantic states. There are always thugs / criminals operating in those areas who are infinitely times smarter than you. Trust me. A walker who approaches your car and is not focused on you, tells me there is an ulterior motive. Watch their eye contact, nervousness, hesitation, look of approval outside of your face, tell tale signs. As far as a place, I've got several safe spots tried and true safe spots, any SW who directs you to an area, especially a one way street that's difficult to navigate, a lot of congestion is my stay away warning especially if they get upset you're not going there is a sure bet someone is lying in wait. Another thing many don't understand is that handguns aren't that accurate past fairly close distances, even in the hands of someone who is competent (and most junkies are not).

I posted a bit ago. But it bears repeating.

A while back, I parked a bit too close to the ave. It was very late, I knew the girl, and my guard was down. While listening to "music" and being very in the thrall of the moment, a guy snuck up on my car with a bat. He demanded money / that I open the car and told me that if I restarted my car, he'd attack. There was no way on earth I was opening the door or window. I drove off, he took out windows.

Always remember that risk management is not the same for many of these people. They don't expect to live. They don't care about tomorrow. They aren't rational.

Safety is your best friend, but there is inherent risk to the hobby, and nothing makes you fool proof.

Even just cruising the stroll while looking always give yourself enough space between you and the car in front of you to cut a turn or pull a you-turn when you stop at lights or stop signs behind another car. It might annoy some people behind you but fuck them especially when cars behind pull right up on your bumper. Any chance is better than no chance.

I have definitely seen some situations on the K. I do believe the more you blend in with the area the better off you will be. Best to drive a good running beater with tinted windows and look a little poor. Best to stay on the main streets then taking chances cruising the side streets.

I feel that if you're white, Asian, or Indian and you drive a nice car on the K you're an automatic target. I have no idea why guys cruise the ave in nice work trucks / cars. As soon as a girl jumps in she's just going to assume you have money or a nice phone she can swipe. There is no need to impress these kind of girls. They don't care about that.

And pretty much assume every single girl you deal with has a boyfriend or some guy they support. On the street and online these girls team up with drug addicted unemployed guys who control them or who they're in love with. If they want to team up and rob you they will.

These are very good tips. One of my tips is always drive a good distance from where you pick up a SW. I drive a minimum of 10 blocks or 1 mile or more. Drive on empty streets. This makes it much harder for LE to follow you without being spotted. It is also a good idea to try and find a area that you can enter from one direction only. This reduces the amount of traffic passing by.

Same thing if a local with a baseball bat (or some other kind of trouble) comes down the street. I prefer a place where there are a couple of escape routes, but that' just me. YMMV.

Only once (I'm shamed to admit this, in 20 years) have I seen police activity aimed at your local friendly service provider. Common sense should prevail, obey the traffic laws, don't do you turns in the middle of the block, use your traffic signals when turning and don't make it obvious. As to the last point, make eye contact and then turn off the main drag and allow your provider to walk up to your car. I tend to be overly cautious so I will pass by a provider at least once to make sure there isn't a cop 30 feet up the road that I didn't see and come back on a 2nd pass to make sure it is safe.

Good luck on your hunt, I about given up on Broadway in Camden for lack of choices and K Ave has been hit and miss lately. There will be a day when the government free checks will stop and maybe then the providers will come back to the streets and make it interesting again.
