While there are ladyboys in Thailand, for the most part they are celebrated in the arts and there is no stigma. They don't hide. It's a lot different than the trans politics here in the US. It's also not hard to figure it out (Adam's apple, cock) and the soapy massage and bar establishments have a vested interest in providing legit females to the tourists. Maybe more unrealistic. If you are spending hundreds in this hobby, a few thousand is doable. If you are not spending hundreds, the question is moot.
