If you google craigslist+blackmail you will see there have been several cases of women meeting married men off a website, having sex with them, and then blackmailing them. When the victim finally goes to LE (sometimes thousands of dollars later) the accused are charged and convicted of felony extortion. In the cases I've read about, the victim of the extortion is allowed to stay anonymous. I am prepared, if it happens to me, to immediately offer the blackmailer a ride with me down to the nearest LE agency to sort it out. Its not that I don't have a lot to lose, but if they are going to play that way, I am going to strike back strong.

Maybe the papers chose to be nice and not print there names but that information is public record and the blackmailer has the absolute right to confront there accuser in court. Unfortunately thats how it works so well for the scum who try and do this to the average guy thats just looking for some fun. Very few victims get I'd protection. And those are generally rape shield laws and victims that are minors.
I wonder how these blackmailers would respond if you politely reminded them that you can get hold of them any time you want to also, and then ask them if they ever wondered if they were bullet proof like superman, all hypothetical of course. Or politely ask if they have enough life, health, car and homeowners insurance and suggest they review there policies, as its best to make sure they are properly covered.
Its best to not give out any true personal information. Use a disposable phone, always arrive early for a meeting, scope out the area and do your best to park somewhat away and not even let anyone know what car you drove there in, carry nothing except your donation, throw away phone and car key (no wallet, main cell phone, house keys ect). I know some say they bring a weapon, thats there choice and more power to them. But if you carry it. Remember to keep it within your grasp at all times and be prepared to use it, or it can easily be used on you.
Maybe its just me, but it seems like this hobby has become very risky and violent prone in the last 12 months or so.
Seems to be a big spike in rip offs, robberies, scams and even blackmail. I would think a provider making 150 to 250 an hour would be happy with that. For the life of me I can not figure out what they are thinking.

I think the providers that read this should listen very carefully.
