I do not have the same luck as HWG. My proposals for car dates are generally met with the reaction that I am either too cheap to spring for a room or that the girl is offended. I have had limited success when I make it clear that a car date allows me to be more generous with a sbs allowance. My $. 02. When I'm traveling (often) its pretty obvious that the hotel is the place to be. However, locally is a different issue.
