So I would say, ask yourself if *you* would want a massage parlor or streetwalker trade near where *you* live? I suspect that while thinking about your answer to this question it will go a long way toward also answering the questions that you pose above.

My advice is that people should try to be reasonable. While you may have perfectly valid reasons to want to monger, your actions may have negative impacts on others, and those others may not like it. Try to keep in mind the impact that your actions have on others and at least you will be a more reasonable monger.

Of course, proving it is another thing altogether because even if guy Y and girl X had an "understanding", LE does not have mind-reading technology, so proving the case would effectively be impossible. I mean, people break laws all the time; but if there is no way for LE to catch them, then there is no way to enforce the law.

Did it bother anyone? No more than the doctor's office on the same block.

Also, since it was legal, there weren't any streetwalker strolls. There was a red light district you could go to and there were scattered bars where "working girls" were known to habituate.

Regardless of the morality of it, decriminalizing prostitution would dramatically reduce the visible negative aspects of the business and it would improve the lives of sex workers.

I doubt if anyone else even notices; they're probably pleased that it isn't ANOTHER empty storefront. There's no gaudy signage or traffic congestion; it's doesn't disrupt the neighborhood at all.

There are some SW who work nearby as well. They are low key for the most part. It's not a known stroll, so there aren't a lot of mongers running around. (Traffic is so bad anyway, I don't think anyone could tell the difference.) As long as they don't walk around in minis and high heels and walk around in traffic and draw attention to themselves, it's not that big of a deal. I admit, it kind of bothered me at first, but now I don't even think about it.

One request. Please stop posting down to us like some condescending schoolteacher and let's all get back to meaningful reporting.

In my time on this earth, about three score years, the political climate has changed regarding most sexual mores. Now divorce is commonplace and no longer a stigma. Now living together without a marriage certificate is no longer "living in sin." The biggest change in sexual ethics is that homosexuality is now in your face with "gay pride" parades and openly accepted gay bars, etc.

In other words, there has been a tidal wave of change in many areas of sexual conduct . EXCEPT for heterosexual activity regarding escorts and especially massage parlors.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why there is no tolerance by the thought police who accept all these other sex concepts, but hound and demonize hetero mongers like they were moral terrorists.

Rational men would not marry if they could buy sex daily at market prices. Given the choice of paid sex on demand, or marriage, paid sex wins; (2) Absent the scarcity created by making prostitution illegal (and by marriage) , in a pay for sex world, women over 30 would have to give it away to find sex. Men would line up to pay for sex with 20 year olds.

But lets look at the facts guys. When you get 40 or 50 you don't want sex like when you were 25. You have more cash. You really would save up for a great night with a 20 something.

I'd rather have fun twice a week with a 20 something than 5 times a week with a woman my own age.

I've been to many providers and although many are are pretty good I'm glad this one has dropped there prices a bit. I asked Mia if they dropped there prices because they've been slow and she responded by saying that they dropped their prices because many customers had thought that too many providers were over priced. This location and the other on Christiana are my 2 favorite spots yet their prices have got cheaper while others keep going up. They are by appointment only but atleast you can choose your provider. If anyone needs info I'd be willing on helping in exchange for info on another location or future lead.

As though they can't understand how "those unreasonable people" could have a different view from their own. For my own part, I can understand why people would be opposed to this kind of stuff; so I don't necessarily consider such people to be unreasonable.

Maybe it's fine with you to have MP and street walking activity near where you live, but I assure you that to many people, your perspective would be considered to be rather "unique". For my own part, unlike you, I would *not* want this kind of trade operating near where I live. In fact, I have always tended to have a preference for places farther away from where I live. So I can understand why a place like Downers Grove would want to shut down MPs that operate on Ogden Avenue; to people who don't share your viewpoint, these MP establishments put the community in an unfavorable light.

I'm not moralizing on mongering; I'm criticizing people who act like they can't understand why some people don't care for mongering.

When it comes to the economics of "paid for" sex versus "marriage" sex (although nothing is free, but the medium of exchange can vary) , one way to look at it is that with "paid for" sex you encounter relatively low fixed cost (for the first sex act) but relatively high marginal cost. With "marriage" sex you pay a relatively high cost for the first sex act (high fixed cost) but a decreasing cost trend for subsequent sex acts (low marginal cost). LOL. Of course, by the time the woman hits middle age, her ability to extract any kind of "rent", fixed or marginal, decreases considerably.

Regarding the MP, it's been there in some incarnation for at least a decade. If it were causing a disturbance or bringing an unwanted element to the neighborhood, it would have been shut down years ago. There's no gaudy signage and the windows are all covered so you can't see inside. It's just another storefront business. I bet if you asked most residents nearby what was in that spot, most couldn't even tell you.

I'm sure most residents in the neighborhood would be up in arms if they knew SW activity was occuring near them. I understand that. If the SW were dressing outlandishly and drawing attention to themselves, I'd want it stopped as well. As I said before, business is done very discreetly. Most people have no clue as to what's going on. It's all a matter of giving and getting the look. If it's done right, the pickup can be made without anyone noticing.

I was drawn to this ad due to it's close proximity to my place and due to the fact that I heard one of the chicks that use to work at Claudia's opened up an apt in the area and I thought I might run into her here. Anyways. The place is on California right next to the school.
