Undercover LE (FTP!) has been used to net Johns for soliciting sex from prostitutes. The Phoenix newbie query was concerning Ho Mongers cruising the same streets over and over in fear of LE interfering 😳. Mr Newcomer inquisitivly asked how both cities relate while cruising BUT also implying possible prevelent LE (FTP!) interference as they do in Phoenix. Well sir the answer is yes! LE (FTP!) in St Louis Misery will harass Johns just as they do in Phoenix 🙄. I may not be an expert but as a Ho Monger since 1990 I have participated in this hobby a long time. The best advice for a newbie here in St Louis would be to use caution, visually surveying while lapping the stroll. Do not make reckless indecisive UTurns. LE (FTP!) will definitely swoop you as they sometimes roll in unmarked vehicles. Also don't pull directly on a potential worker. Pull a few lenghts up as she will walk to your window to discuss physical interactions. I would also suggest getting a room in the area and have it already in play. Taking one of these hookers to an alley or somewhere of her choice is no good at all 👎. For a newbie, you will just be setting yourself up to get snitched on by the neighborhood watch committee or you may even get robbed 😳.

In closing my advice for any Newbie would be to carefully use common sense while cruising. Don't make any suspicious indecisive or quick foolish movements while you are driving. Even though some local gals I know who've been working the streets for more than a decade say they have never heard of it here, they probably have never been outside of their particular hood which just hasn't got that same kind of attention like that (some of them haven't had a family member leave 'their' neighborhood at all for three generations). And of course I agree with your advice about making dumb indiscrete maneuvers that draw attention, foolishly advertising what you're up to and needlessly pissing off people in the neighborhood and provoking the civil servants patrolling it.

But I believe the specific question he asked has to do with something you may not be really familiar with if you haven't lived in or spent a lot of time in some other cities, and maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree about how you see it. Besides the experience of having previously lived for over 20 years in the region he's coming from, part of our different point of view may come from me spending a lot more time in the north side areas of STL and only rarely cruising around Broadway in South City, and I think we might be able to agree there are some real differences in what is accepted as "normal" looking behavior in different neighborhoods. I'll try not to get too long winded and boring with detailed stuff that won't be relevant to people here, but in some other cities (Phoenix, Fig in LA, W Trop & Boulder in Las Vegas) there are official blocks of some streets that have been formally legally designated as special high vice corridors that call for special LE suppression by doing a lot of much more heavy handed stuff than what happens in STL about both motorists & pedestrians. Like prohibiting many very tame otherwise totally normal boring type turns, meticulously logging who goes by exactly how often and aggressively enforcing some very unusual ordinances specific to those blocks, which have been declared as giving them probable cause to do a full roadside rectal exam on much less grounds than elsewhere, and issuing exclusion orders totally banning individuals from even being in those designated areas at all as motorists or pedestrians, and paying lotsa bucks to do expensive elaborate operations around all that stuff. And maybe most importantly, providing lots of proudly announced official public political encouragement for doing it. You might feel that some things LE does here seem like what some of that sounds like to you, but having lived both here and where he's coming from, no, most definitely not, they are very different. Way different. You'd probably have to have seen it to get how different it is.

I'm pretty sure the very specific thing he was asking about was making some laps, by driving up the street and then after a decent interval of time that might be consistent with running a few little errands to here and there and to be driving back down the way he came, like going to a few places to visit some joint over here & there & back. I like jazz & blues & like checking out some scruffy local venues for it. And doing that in a normal looking sensible kind of way. In Phoenix or LA on a certain stretch of a particular formally designated street, that could very likely get you lotsa trouble in some designated places at the wrong times when they are doing 'special enforcement', without doing anything else at all, with nothing but pretty ordinary conservative totally normal boring type driving action, much more easily than here. If you don't think so, I'll just say that you're mistaken about that, but if you feel you're sure that's not how it is I won't be participating in continuing an argument with you about it.

Of course the same basic rules of caution apply on the street everywhere, and if Zipster wants to educate about that, good on him. I've done a little of that myself sometimes. I'm sure we're on the same page there, singing from the same hymn book, chanting the same motto, insert your favorite cliche. So yeah, don't ignore your surroundings or give up control of who might be in your immediate physical environment; never go along with anything that could lure you into a setup to get robbed or worse. Don't do weird illegal or conspicuous driving or stopping actions. Think about how it would be from your point of view if you lived there, were friends with the alderman, had the local police swing shift captain who is your favorite aunt's boyfriend on speed dial, and were looking at that from your own home porch. Even if everybody else is in a frenzy doing all kinds of weird and damn dangerous stuff behind the wheel, as they routinely do without fear of any consequences in parts of STL. And even if there's a much more conspicuous traffic jam from a crowd of people openly buying & selling crack right across the street from that working girl you'd like to scoop up. As there are right now in more than a half dozen places in STL that I could name, including some that have never been mentioned on this board, and probably won't be. For good reason, in my opinion, and I won't be responsible for what happens if I say something to send any suburban people into those very insular extremely messed up but still close knit neighborhood places where everybody knows exactly who is who. And where practically nobody outside of a few elderly folk acts as if they have ever heard of traffic laws, and no policeman wants to risk setting off another powder keg by trying to enforce them, without some other bigger reason and some assurances from above. And that's not Phoenix. But acting like a Phonecian behind the wheel until getting thoroughly used to local customs could be a fine way to go.

Since this is a discussion board that's all about guys interested in seeking women for sex, and doing so from women who are making their living based on selling their physical attraction to guys, judging those women who choose to do that based on their physical looks is pretty much what it is about. Some of them look like shit, some don't. And a lump of shit is in the eye of the beholder, but we're here to call 'em as we see 'em. But I do know very well what a SW sting is and looks like, and how to avoid them, for about forty years now. I've seen plenty of them. In my opinion it really takes someone spectacularly clueless, childishly impulsive, very drunk, or just plain stupid to get themselves caught in one. Of course there is no shortage of people out there who are well qualified on those grounds, who somehow manage to have automobiles and enough scratch to be a danger to themselves and others. For myself when I'm out where the street wildlife roams, I'd say the first and easiest clue to me is that they are strangely stationary within the limited boundaries of where the sting operation has designated in advance for them to be, for keeping within the surveillance of their backups, rather than freely walking over & around the corner leaving their high visibility spot to come to the possible pick up.

But those operations are quite expensive, and they also are usually intentionally marketed through the local news media to the taxpaying public. And I've seen nothing specific discussed about any of that recently here at all, and while I sure could have missed it, out of my 17-18 years or so on this web forum I've had a particular interest in following the local StL SW scene for about the last 7 or 8 or those years. So I was curious specifically in whether THIS city (importantly the CITY & not in County jurisdictions) was in fact ever doing them, perhaps if there are examples of any dates and places, after what gals working the streets here have said to me on the subject locally. Not on what some unfortunately almost inevitable pompous internet forum jackass might airily want to declare that "everybody knows" but specific reports which would constitute useful factual information.

After asking that, I've since done a bit of research on the current City policy, coming from both the stated policies that have been disseminated in writing from both the Mayor and the St Louis City Circuit Attorney (the chief City prosecutor) and I've learned that the answer locally is very different here now than a lot of other cities. I don't want to start wading into the pointless cultural squabbles of warring political tribes over dumb political ideological crap that surely won't be productive at all, but both those StL City (again NOT StL County) officials are explicit highly public advocates of a "decriminalization of 'sex work' platform" they adopted from a feminist lobbying political advocacy pressure group that's apparently treated as a definite part of their constituency, and they have apparently issued public directives to their respective LE supervisory staffs to that effect.

The main drag is S Broadway BUT it's good to drive around the corner into the surrounding neighborhood where you are to check for LE. If you see 👀 LE around the corner and a potential pick up is walking down S Broadway then more than likely LE is waiting for some poor guy who is just trying to get his Johnson serviced to pull over and try to pick her up. If you stop and pull over, LE (FTP!) will jump out quick as lightning. This has happened to me a few times. Believe me it's very nerve racking 😳 and upsetting.
