I imagine providers face a cycle of feast or famine and you have to make hay while the sun shines. And s--t happens. But every minute I am made to wait is resources spent towards arranging my schedule and that I can't devote to the providers themselves.

They are the service provider and need to remember that point. Deliver great service and get rewarded.
