Second chances. (and sorry if I start to rant.).

So recently, I set up an appointment with one of the very well reviewed providers for USASG. It was done in advance and all appeared to be going well. I sent a text that morning to confirm, also sent one when I was still a few miles out. In return she sent me a text with the room number. When I arrived at the location, I sent a text telling her I just got there and was headed up. This is when things got. Weird. I knocked on the door. She took longer than I would have thought needed to answer. Once she did, she only opened it enough to say that I needed to come back in a few minutes, she wasn't ready, and shut the door. Big head starting to overcome the little head at this point. I didn't want to stand around in the hallway, so I went back to the car. I sent a text asking her to let me know when it was ok to come back. **crickets*.

I sent an additional 2 text while waiting almost 30 minutes (I'll explain this madness latter). I finally figure that is was not going to happen, so I send another text saying I'm leaving **crickets* After a few more minutes, I get a text from here asking where I was? I reminded her that she asked me to leave and comeback later, and that I had also sent texts asking what was going on. She replied that she had sent "A" text saying to come up, but it must not have gone through. Sorry. Several minutes after that, I get another one say that she is still available if I want to return. At this point, I could not because the window for my visit had gotten to short. But I said I can do later in the day. That didn't pan out either. But there was talk of trying a different day.

So Negatives:

Several hours of wasted time.

Had to swap my schedule at work to get a weekday off, cost me my entire weekend.

About 140 mile round trip.

A not so nice experience with a provider that I had wanted to se for a long time.

Positives:

I stopped at a local gun shop and found a new toy, on sale even, that I had been after for a while. So trip wasn't a total waste.

So after all that, to my question. Should I try a second chance?? Or just right it off.

Seems like every time I try to expand my horizons I get frustrated or disappointed. Last year when I got together with Colerain Kim we kind of bickered because she wanted to wait till I was in the parking lot to give me the room number. I have been doing this before cell phones and like to know exactly where I need to go before I leave the house. I have been left high and dry by this method before and it was kind of a sore spot before we met. But we did meet and she was fun but still had the frustration. Just this week I call Sunday and had a 3 pm set up with Brookee. Already was vouched and everything by Colerain kim so everything was good to go. Text her Wed. And asked if we were still on and she said she couldn't meet till 7:30. Frustration once again. I guess this all goes with the business when meeting someone new. This brings me to the point of being spoiled. I have been a regular with one of the best in the city for the last 7 years. I have seen her over 60 times and she has never cancelled on me once. Guess I will wait till my regular goes out of business to try to find a replacement. I thought I had one with cupcake.

I've been reading up on the Tao, and have generally been a fan of the 3rd way for a while. I would neither start from a clean slate and give her another chance nor cross her off the list. I would move her down the list. I would try to see 2 or 3 other providers first. Then if the reviews are still good, I would try her again. Reasoning she might be turning bad after a time of earning good reviews or it might be a one of event. Time and more reviews should tell. So in short a cooling off period for both parties is my advice.

I've been thinking for a while that it might be best to upgrade to a burner phone for various reasons and was wondering what you guys thinks is the best service to go with. There are so many on the market these days so I thought this might be a good place to ask.

WW.[/QUOTE]I use a Trac Phone from Walmart. No problems with it. I use a fake email account to initialize it. Be sure to add data with a data only card to it if you text a lot.

Only thing is to get minutes to call you need to either buy minutes or watch 1 minute videos to get free minutes. Either way if theres a nut case calling you just delete app and start over with new number. Just an option. Stay safe.

I heard that trac phone deducts a minute from your time for each text message sent or received is that the reason to get the data only card?

WW.[/QUOTE]I also use a Trac phone, I did not have to put any info in except zip and I use a diferant code, the rest info just said do it later. $20 for 3 months / 60 minutes, and most of the time they give a code that gives a free extra 60 minutes. As long as you add minutes to it before the 3 months is up your left over minutes carry over.

We had a time arranged, I got there on time, I texted from a block away asking if she was ready, she said I'm almost ready but you can go ahead and pull up. I did, texted to ask if it was ok to come to the door now (I didn't want to assume it was ok and, you know, a lot of women have flexible definitions of "almost ready"), then crickets. Waited a few minutes, texted again asking if it was ok to come to door now. Crickets. Waited a bit more and then left, as I was getting uneasy just sitting there in my car.

I get about 1/4 or 1/2 mile away, she sends a couple texts asking where I was and said something about her phone dying in the course of those texts. "Phone died" was the wrong thing to say to me. Had she not said it, I would have gone back and chalked it up as just one of those things you have to be patient with in the hobby. But dead phones are something of an epidemic among providers, and I guess I'd just heard it one too many times. I went home. I do not plan on going back. I did not travel as far as you, but time was still wasted. To each his own.

But a bunch of texts will use up your data quick. Then with no warning you suddenly can't text even though you have lots of minutes left for talking. The data for texting is seperate from minutes from talking. But you can add 1000 minutes of data pretty cheap.
