One of those was being waaaaay too into the hobby. I had to cut ties and without any sort of pomp and circumstance. While this may have made me seem like a dickhead, it was something I had to do to get back to me. I'm still not sure I can have a "healthy" attachment to the hobby. As of now, I do, but much of that relies on just jumping in here and there and not immersing myself. Call it addiction, compulsion, lack of will power, whatever. Doesn't really matter what name it has. I'm hoping to be able to take the good parts of the hobby without getting stuck in the parts that are detrimental to me.

And of course, these rules just apply to me. I don't concern myself with the actions of others in the hobby. No judgment from the wicked. I'm actually seeing a therapist and have been for a year. Got to love a guy who doesn't try to tell you that pay 4 play is necessarily "wrong" when two consenting adults are involved. "Sounds like a blast" he says. "It IS doc, it IS", I say.
