My only concern is about this being a possible sting though. The fake CL listings/stings love to use pictures that can be found on the internet. Anybody else use this number with success?

...but took it out for some reason, not wanting to be too paranoid myself. I'd say about 90% chance of an agency and 10% chance of a sting. Either way it's not worth a shot in my mind.

The 657 prefix may be Glastonbury, but it could also be a portable number for a cell phone anywhere. Mine is a Hartford prefix, (and I ain't posting it!) but I [u]DON'T[/u] live in Hartford, so anyplace is possible..

I know someone in So. Cal. who has 860 as the area code for his cell phone. Go figure!

What I remember from a friend who worked for SBC back in the day was that the the first three numbers of a number after the area code typically indicate the area/town in which the number dials into first/goes to first. Usually it would also originate there as well.

Glastonbury has three prefixes: 657, 659, and 633. I'm pretty darn sure that 657 wouldn't be anywhere else. Of course, that number could just be a switchboard of sorts and it could send us to a number that doesn't originate from there. :p

As for cell phones, it gets a little more complicated. Bubba, your acquaintance in So. Cal. most likely originally got the cell phone here. A friend of mine now lives in NJ but he's got a 203 area code on his cell because he used to around New Haven. Wanderer, your cell phone is a Hartford prefix for a similar reason: I assume you bought your cell phone around the Hartford area.

Anyways, enough lessons about phones; however, knowledge is always power. :)

As for the CL listing, I'm not a very brave soul unless my chances are higher than 95% to suceed. Call me a lame wuss if you'd like, but as always, better safe than sorry. :p
