Keeping the insane donations aside, am curious to hear what are some risks I should be aware of?

You're on the right track with TER. Make sure you review the reviewers as well. A provider can have a bunch of shills giving her fake reviews but if you see the reviewers have some history with others its more likely they aren't a shill.
Screening is typical. Whether it's light or heavy varies greatly. If they ask for ID it's up to you if you want to go that far, but there are plenty of girls out there that won't so its easy to move on. References usually avoid the need for an ID.
