Mary Ann Summers - Update
Last week I reached out to Mary Ann Summers to arrange a meeting for today.
Our texts were frustrating as she was either unwilling or unable to answer a simple question around giving me a general sense of what town / area we would be meeting in. I wanted to factor in drive time for my work schedule. I wasn't asking for an address, just for a general area. Finally she said inside the 275 loop on the east side. But getting to that answer was like pulling teeth. And many of her strange replies were filled with drama about her life, running late, etc. Whatever, I figured maybe she's just a little ditsy.
So we confirmed our day and time last week and it was supposed to be for this morning. I text her about an hour and 5 minutes before our appointment (her adamant request that visitors jump through this hoop) and crickets.
I'm sharing because I think someone this flaky and disrespectful of people's time is someone I think we should all be wary of.
Mary Ann Summers reached out to me today to apologize. Granted, it was after this post went up. She was upset. Consequently, I wanted to share with y'all that she followed up with me. I will not make excuses for her. Providers ask for respect. Fair request. Mongers ask for respect. Fair request. I didn't get that this morning, so I wrote a review. She understands that now.
Mary Ann took full responsibility for ghosting me this morning. She seemed to recognize that she needs to work on managing her schedule as well as endeavoring to provide clear and reliable communications.
At this point, I don't know that I care to ever meet her. Maybe, maybe not. And she is likely too pissed at me to meet. So I'm not motivated one way or the other to comment here other than to give back to the group that has kept me safe on more than one occasion. But I'm hoping that she means what she says regarding giving respect. We all know that must be a two-way street.
Anyway, she seemed genuine in our communications, so I wish her the best. I do know some here like her very much, so I'm not willing to throw the proverbial baby out with the bath water. She just needs to improve her business woman and customer service skills a bit.
