The reason that they are all there is because centreville is basically the poorest town in Illinois and so the cops will allow any business that pays taxes to stay. Free market competition keeps prices consistent, but also keeps the younger, higher paid ladies out. They do enough business that you can check Google for their typically busy times.

Typically I would stay clear of anything north-northwest of downtown St. Louis out to the airport area. Exceptions would be CWE (Central West End) and UC (University City) although their northern fringes maybe questionable. South of the city "if the street is the name of a state, "Texas, Ohio, etc. " you might be better off steering clear. North County (north and northeast of airport) I can't advise, little experience. Maybe someone can add info about this area. South County generally good but not used frequently.

618 is across river in Illinois, can be good or risky. Would stay on major highways as much as possible.

Most travelers stay downtown, Clayton or west county (Chesterfield) for a reason. Some will use hotels close to the airport.

Most reputable local providers are in or use safe areas.

If you're planning on using LC or STG you're going to find them all over town.
