Found this forum a month or so ago and have been just reading and reading. Good material.
This was my first time to an asian massage place. I was going to head to Li's but instead headed to BAM since I had an excuse to be in that area. Overall I enjoyed the massage since I like a light touch / rub by soft hands; but those looking for a top notch massage should probably go elsewhere. The lady seemed older, maybe high 40's with nice looking Ds (or more). Communication was an issue as she did not seem to speak good english. I also elected for the table shower as I have never done that before, which was nice. She dried me off afterwards, gently.
Due to this being my first report I am cautious to post further details and reserve them for seniors that are interested. Total damage was $. 8; 2 hr plus table shower + . 45 tip. That might be a little high for a tip after reading these forums, but I had a unique experience that it was well-earned. The only sad part was that my 2 hr was cut 15 min short. Really though, that was my fault.
Thanks again to the seniors / posters who supply valuable information. I went in expecting nothing and came out with a memorable experience.

I also finally went to try out bam.
Older lady. Serious communication issues. But massage was very good and I ended on a good note. She wasn't very willing to help but it took a while to have her help me smile.
I also put out a larger tip of. 4. think that was high based on what I read. But good experience overall.

I PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT over tip at these places. Its bad enough they practically hassle you for one when your paying, and I don't mind tipping, but I do not like the hassle. But if people tip more, that is going to raise up the expectations and / or prices. I think at a place like BAM, if you get what your looking for, a. 25 tip is sufficient, and from my experience it is what they expect. If you tip less they look at you like a third eye is growing out of your head and your next visit may not be so good.
I tip based on how happy I am with the service and what I can afford to pay. When I go to BAM, it is during the "lunch specials", before 3 pm massage / shower for $65, I usually tip 20-25 but it has been as low as 10.
Now, some of the places I have been negotiate and even demand the tip be paid upfront for anything extra, those were in KY and TN and because they expect more, they start off high and usually won't do a happy for less than. 4 on top of the house fee.
WE DO NOT NEED THAT HERE.

Not because there is the illusion of some set price list or the expectation of what all mongers should do. In fact it has been my experience from talking to the girls that the hagglers and cheapskakes ruin it for all of us. Everybody wants to be compensated well for what they do. I know I do when I go to work. I am not interested in haggling over price for what I do. I set expectations. If I get this, then they will get thus tip, if they exceed expectations, then who knows. But if they crap out, then little or no tip. You get what you pay for.

Be nice to her.
