I've been on the Superferry and there aren't really any private areas that are accessible to the public. All the public seating areas are very open. Even the booths and cubicles. Even the Men's and Women's bathrooms are on opposite sides of the boat. So it would be pretty obvious if someone of the opposite gender were to try to sneak in since the doors are visible from the main seating areas. As for the cargo hold, they don't let you go down (no pun intended) to your car once you park it and move upstairs.
