Continuing saga of payments
I am attempting to get a month membership on seeking.com, and am acutely aware of all the pitfalls and pointers that have appeared on this thread recently. I am using the OneVanilla Prepaid Visa Card. I bought it yesterday. I got online and verified its balance. I even called and through a wacky unreliable phone tree, I entered in a zip code.
I just tried to use it to pay for my 20% discounted membership (seemingly available most of the time), and I got rejected. Twice.
I emailed seeking customer service to ask them to run the card, they used to do that.
BTW, this is posted on the intake form for Customer Service:
Currently, we are not able to accept European-issued American Express or Diner's Club cards. Please use a Visa, Mastercard, Discover, GooglePlay, or a prepaid card.
What are the consequences of Outting ones STD Testing?
I'm not sure what the privacy concern with medical testing is? Is it you just don't want a bill or test result mail to your house because of a wife?
I guess all those who live their lives through SM don't have a clue about privacy? The privacy concern is that with the force of law (supeona, etc) nothing "on record" is truly private. You get in a nasty divorce proceeding and it is discovered you got STD checked a bunch of times. What happens when Apple, Google, FB or some business decides it is in the best interest to spy on your cell phone to protect the "greater good?" What happens when the STD check records of one of those testing sites gets hacked and published in some Ashley Madison style breach? Who knows what the next iteration is of less privacy or "outting" of people is?
If anyone doesn't get that, then they are open to the consequences.
No By Text, I mean Texting on phone, off SA
That's the best way to get banned that IK -.
When you say 'text' you mean message on SA, right?
If you are texting them by phone, you can say most anything.
After I get the POTS Phone numbers, I text them, and they text back one word "Hi", or "Yes" Then go silent.
Should I try texting them a number 400 or 500?
Nobody else has encountered this kind of texting silence, or texting ghosting?
Local STD test, no paper trail
Sure there's risk in any venture. Which is why some of us, like Shampoo55 appear to believe in risk mitigation. Much like how some of us manage stock investments, wear seatbelts, go to the gym, and make financial and other decisions based on an unknown future. For instance, one doesn't have to be worried about a nasty divorce to recognize it's always a risk and act accordingly.
If I just followed along with "whatever happens, happens" I'd probably be broke and complaining about how I can't get a discount for Seeking.
Go into Planned parenthood on Hamilton street in Richmond. You use a fake name, they will ask you for an ID. You tell them you don't have it with you. They ask for your phone number to call you with the results form your STD test. You give them a burner number. I have done it myself. They don't push the I'd thing. I am sure some of the girls that get abortions don't use real names.
HIPP, Medical Professionals and Olfactory Confusion
Sure thing. I'll bet those are the famous last words of everyone that's gone through a nasty divorce. You never know, the spouse could be a cheater too. Points for spelling HIPAA correctly, unlike most of the folks that like to invoke that particular law.
I've spent quite a bit of time in the health industry. I suppose I don't share your positive view of their compliance. Can't help but notice that the admin here doesn't even think you're a dude, which could account for your empathy over a maligned spouse. LOL.
At any rate, everyone can choose their own risk adventure.
Speaking of HIPPA Compliance. One day I was sitting next to a fax machine (yeah a few years ago) and the machine starts to spit out some health records from a Doctor's office! I forget what was included but it was some lady and her medical file.
Apparently some "Genius" in the HC profession punched the wrong phone number into the fax machine and here were medical records in my hands! Should have reported the HIPPA breach to the State Department of Health, instead I called the Dr. Office and explained the problem. Was connected with another "genius" who could not have cared less about the error, had no clue of the severity of the breach and was even less motivated.
Youse get these people who take some 8 week class on "medical records" (ABC's, filing, how to wear a smock, showing up on time, etc) and they are instant "medical professionals" who confuse their own odor for perfume and who couldn't possibly make a mistake because, after all, they are a medical professional..
So hey, everyone is free to chose to employ risk mitigation techniques, or not. "Doing nothing" is always a choice whether conscious or unaware.
Just saying.
Back to the business at hand.
