She was sentenced last week and it appears that her sentence was time served, though that's not clear from the ccap entries. She's no longer listed as an inmate, so it appears she's out. After several aborted meetings, first off SA, later directly off the burner number she used in her ads, I actually met her a while ago, probably 2 months ago. I invited her to coffee and she accepted and gave me a snapshot of her situation (I think I believed most of it). We didn't discuss drugs, and she didn't show any symptoms of drug use I could detect, but the only explanation that made sense from what she told me was that she had a mega drug problem. Hopefully those 3+ weeks in jail allowed for some detox, and perhaps she is pursuing some kind of treatment. From her FB she does have family in the area, and they appear reasonable middle class people. They might help her if she was seriously trying to clean up her act. She seemed like a really nice, cute, intelligent woman in a very bad situation.

The jury is still out on the rest.
I have spent some time talking with her. She seems fairly straight but I know only too well that even ex-addicts are incredibly manipulative. She does seem appreciative of donations of food, etc. Boyfriend supposedly bailed; probably best for her. Baby is due in a couple of months.
This is like feeding a stray cat and having it adopt me. Having it happen with a human being is damn scary. I don't want her to be dependent on me but I would like to help her. The balancing act is very stressful! I'm not thrilled with welfare queens but I'm hoping she can get some help somehow.

The other thing is how do you know the person is sending you a real picture of themselves? LE could easily use and send you some free download pictures from the internet.
