Live to die another day!
One guy, new or not, can't write enough good reviews of someone to make me go see them. There must be enough quantifying data (from this site or combined with others) to make me a believer enough to contact someone.
I mean, it's very unlikely I'll go see someone because a single senior saw them and posted. I have gone to see someone based off a backchannel offer though, because there's some trust established.
Like you said, it's all about the comfort zone.
I'm right there with you. That's how the SP8 happened. I was in that circle in those days too. A few things kept it from being the SP9 as far as I was concerned. One was just dumb luck as I was otherwise occupied that week. But there was something about the board chatter that didn't sit with me right. I remember thinking, "I'm sure it's fine but I'll wait". Also Pie had told she was trouble but I sort of took as potentially a personal thing after their falling out. So that probably wouldn't have stopped me. I know a lot of guys have their own wooda been SP9 stories. The moral is that when shit goes wrong it's what you learn that matters. But perhaps I am forgetting because recently has been the first time I have hobbied in Indy since that happened.

Southport 8 incident
With the incident you're talking about. Got a link?
Was a May day, 2 or 3 years ago, I have a terrible chronological memory, many mongers were promised candy but got orange bologna instead, a very seasoned and once trusted Boiler fan seemed to be dirty, I doubt there's a link, seems if you've hobbied for more than a few years, you'd be familiar.
With the incident you're talking about. Got a link?
The main link would be FF's "Kandi is LE". Unfortunately it was lost on NR. It was like the first or second Friday or Thursday of 2013. FF bailed several of the guys out in a way only FF would do (any practicing Catholics? Can we submit an application for sainthood with the Pope or something?) Then posted the warning to stop the bleeding. All sorts of posts followed. Accusations flying around. Lots of info and strategy was shared, lessons learned and things got very real on this side of the hobby where it really had been all fun and games previously.

What is SP8?
With the incident you're talking about. Got a link?
SP8 was an IMPD Vice Sting Operation that occurred on May 10th, 2013 at the Country Inn and Suites just off the I-65 Southport Road exit. In case you haven't already cracked the code-- SP comes from Southport and 8 comes from the number of guys who visited the graybar hotel as a result of it.
A local provider named Kandi who was on the now defunct NR was busted by vice. Kandi had managed to carry out several successful visits with local hobbyists before she was arrested and vice. Young and scared, Kandi allowed IMPD vice to take over her NR account and phone.
Once vice was in the possession of Kandi's account, they convinced a local well known hobbyist who had actually visited with her to write a review on NR. For the purposes of this posting, let's call this person MR62.
In the meantime, vice had also been corresponding with another well-known local hobbyist (the aforementioned Boiler Fan) for an appointment. When the arranged appointment with Boiler Fan occurred, he became the second local to be arrested and turn over his accounts to IMPD Vice. Boiler fan wasn't young and should have known better to allow this. They proceeded to write Kandi another glowing review using Boiler Fan's accounts.
So now we have a new young provider with reviews from two well-known hobbyists. And you know how it goes, everyone loves fresh meat.
Less than a week later, the sting was setup and they were reeling in hobbyists at the rate of about 4 per hour until their cover was blown.
The IMPD decoy who stood in the place of Kandi was Officer Tabatha McLemore.
MR62's online reputation was destroyed by this turn of events. But in his defense, he reviewed girls all of the time and was willing to help the new Kandi out. He was not aware that the account was in the possession of Indy Vice, which I believe now.
However, Boiler Fan knew that IMPD had possession of his accounts and knew the review was false and should have warned someone in the hobby community about this. All he had to do was tell one provider. He defended himself by saying his lawyer told him not to contact anyone in the community. But his silence bought 3-4 days of time for IMPD Vice to setup a sting with Kandi's online presence. Lawyers don't always give good advice.
There you have it.
Note to Admin- Not trying to break any rules, just answer a question from a local hobbyist.
[blue]I don't see any violation of any rules. My issue has never been that something like this couldn't happen, I only take issue with guys that say people get busted from the information posted. Getting caught up in a sting and having your phone seized is not the same thing as "oh my god if you write that they will arrest that girl."
You can get caught in a sting on any online site, NR, BP, Us whoever. But that is them putting the cuffs on you when you show up, you deliver yourself to them. Not them knocking on your door from something you wrote here. It's a whole different thing.
Once you move from online to reality the same rules as a boxing ring apply, "protect yourself at all times."

A2[/blue]
Your good friend Lorelei Nixie the psycho provider from Bloomington made it a personal vendetta to make sure that one member of the SP8 didn't get a diversion program like everyone else did. She supplied the prosecutor with e-mails from the monger showing his real identity on the boards from discussions contained in private e-mails. This gave the prosecutor leverage to not offer him a diversion program so he ended up taking a guilty plea instead of trying to fight it. Now everyone knows the whole story, thanks to Lorelei. And Yes he could have fought it and yes it was postings from multiple boards and yes maybe he had a bad lawyer, but it still was because of the psycho Lorelei.

The IMPD decoy who stood in the place of Kandi was Officer Tabatha McLemore.
I did a Facebook search of this officer and this was the first thing that came up:
Sexual Temptation by Law Enforcement is Not Entrapment.
When undercover police officers, like Detective Tabatha McLemore, catch people trying to solicit the services of a prostitute, they do it by pretending to be prostitutes themselves. They stand on street corners, take long looks at passing cars, and even waive at those that look back. When a vehicle stops, the exchange is fairly standard between the individual soliciting and the undercover officer. The individuals who stops rarely wants to be the first person to bring up the topic of sex, so the undercover police officer is usually the first to bring up the topic directly (presumably so the body-wire that she's wearing can record the transaction). The question that divided the Indiana Supreme Court recently was: does this practice constitute unlawful police entrapment?
When police induce an individual to commit a criminal offense, the burden of proof is then placed on the State of Indiana to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the individual was predisposed to commit the crime in the first place. This is to prove that law enforcement's actions were not the cause of the criminal behavior. In Griesemer v. State of Indiana, the majority of the Indiana Supreme Court held that mere temptation to commit a crime was not inducement. Focusing more what would happen if it held otherwise, the majority stated: "if we were to find entrapment on these facts, we would effectively put an end to prostitution stings. We are not willing to so limit the activity of undercover officers to the detriment of safety and quality of life in many neighborhoods. " Justice Rucker, in his dissent, took issue with the fact that Detective McLemore was the first person to mention money, the first to mention performance of a sex act, and the first to mention trading a sex act for money. In so doing, the dissent pointed out that the State of Indiana has the burden of showing the defendant's predisposition to commit the offense, and it failed. Now, the question has become: what is required to turn a temptation into an inducement?
