For the history bufgs of there, If I were an explorer in the 1490's, and had my choice to sail the Nina, Pinta, or Santa Maria, I would definitely choose the Nina. She was both seaworthy and built compactly. A little rough around some edges, but overall a smooth voyager.

All 3 vessels were indeed seaworthy vessels. In my dreams, I found the Nina to be a bit more strict and structured and less fun. All 3 got sailors where they needed to go, but only the Nina required the use of a life vest. To some folks, this is not a big deal, but I found it to be rather restricting and took away from the overall excitement. Even at port all were made to be fully vested and suited up. Why? I can understand at sea, but at port?
Yes, the Nina is a fine piece of craftmanship. Well constructed. Almost perfect. She is every ship in a bottle come to life. All her sailors were proud to have sailed her. But most of the men who sailed the Nina also sailed on the Santa Maria and the Pinto because these ships were more fun.
