I contacted a provider with a board presence, someone I had never seen before, and I provided my board handle and sent her a PM so she can verify I am who I say I am. She looked me up, looked at my posts and past reviews, and that's what promoted her to decline seeing me.
It seems that she was very apprehensive about my past not so flattering reviews of some other providers, that it worries her that I might be too picky and too demanding, and if I don't get exactly what I want or more than she's willing to do, I might leave a bad review and ruin her income source.
Let me say, for the record, I am not going to out this provider, because she really didn't do anything wrong. She has the right to decline to see a potential client, for any reason, and I am actually at least grateful for her candor. In fact, that could explain the recent bad luck I have been having in scheduling with providers.
Anyone else having problems scheduling after leaving a negative review of someone else?

And therein lies the dilemma for us all. To speak the truth or not.
Everyone has something to lose in this game, and those who chose to exploit that, well, that just compromises the integrity of the board, and the Hobby in general.
CFG.
Oh, it's not really a dilemma. It's really an awesome screening process.
If a provider is bad at her job, she should be worried that I will tell the truth on the board, and she should refuse service. Save me the money and the trouble of having to write a bad review. The good ones though, the ones that know they leave their clients wanting for more, those are the ones that will agree to see me, take my money, and make me glad to have spent time with them.
Those are the ones that I want to see, and those are the ones that get the D'Nut Seal of Approval. That's a sure sign of quality.
