Ripoff Reports

So let me get this straight.

DieselMike reported on a scamming couple around 76 & Capitol area.

Daddio wanted to know more, as he possibly knows a couple doing this.

Daddio reports that he has not report, one way or the other.

1. From the original report, we now know (or are reminded) that there is a couple scamming in that area (why should it be any different than the rest of the city?

2. Daddio knows a couple that may be scamming; but will not provide details on them, or if they are the couple originally reported on.

She is not a provider (that I know of) and no ads that I've found. No guns or threats but I've been concerned that it could get to that point. Going to the Mid Point Motel on Appleton at midnight on a Friday night last summer to pick her up after BF "got arrested" was an interesting cultural experience, to say the least. I can't carry heat due to legal issues stemming from a domestic incident, or I would.

The couple described are homeless. They lived in a van for the past couple of years until the van crapped out. Not sure where they are now but I do talk the the girl occasionally. I've stayed with this train wreck in a (probably foolish) attempt to get her off the street and into rehab for her addiction issues. I'm not sure where they are now but probably in the NW MKE area.

I've thought about starting a blog just for scams. This girl has a story for everything and, when confronted about a lie, will double down and cover it with more lies. "I need money for bus fare / gas / food / etc. ".

I posted here because I'm sure that I'm not the only guy that saw her on the street and felt sorry for her. Yesterday she called me in a panic because "some guy sent me $600 and it was in my account and now it's gone". Maybe an attempt to get me to help her out or maybe some sucker was sending her money for some contrived BS.

This is the same girl that I posted about getting severely injured back in June. She met a guy at a gas station, Appleton and Hampton, at midnight to "buy a food card" (yeah!) while BF sat in the van and she ended up left for dead in an alley. Spent 2 weeks in a hospital and went right back to the street.

She's cute, smart and extremely devious. Here's an example: she asked me for $100 "for a new phone and some other stuff". I took her to Walmart on Silver Spring. She asked me to wait in the pharmacy area for a prescription she had ordered, while she went to get the phone. Pharmacy told me they had nothing for her, so I went looking for her only to find that she had ghosted me.

Nothing to be had from her except heartbreak and misery. Save your money for something worthwhile.

Only once in my history did I meet a woman who actually had a plan to save money, invest and lead a great life. If anyone of you remember Lauren (Beauty and Brains) from the HOH days, she worked hard, did not use drugs and was able to buy a beautiful home, had investments, traveled the world, spoke several languages and is now living down south and has a great life. Outside of that one single lady, everyone else is either using, is horrible at managing money or simply cannot look ahead more than one day in their life. Scamming and abuse are simply a part of their life. We will never change this and just have to keep your eyets open and be safe and smart. Think with your normal brain first!

Up until about a year ago a white couple were regular "homeless" rats that begged regularly on Capitol Drive on either 76th Street or on Appleton Avenue. But they actually lived on 76th Street in one of the many four families that line this area. I grew up in the general area. In the 60's, 70's, even the 80's, these were some of the nicest neighborhoods in the city. High schools like Marshall, Custer, and Madison, were considered and rated very highly. Now it has all gone to shit, just a shame.
