As a foreigner living overseas at the time, my options were severely limited. Also, maybe on the day of your appointment, the provider ends up feeling lousy and doesn't want to do any appointments that day, so now she is stuck having to scroll through texts (or worse, she kept a log book of scheduled appointments) and now has to contact the clients scheduled for that day to cancel. So I can see the viewpoint of the provider wanting not the hassle of scheduling appointment not on the same day.

I've seen plenty of legit "same day only" providers over the years.
