Back then, I used it (in conjunction with another site who's name I forget) when travelling overseas. However, it was very hit-and-miss with a helluva lot of misses. Approach that whole site with lowered expectations, extreme level of patience, and healthy skepticism--and you might come across a real, surprising gem.
But again, all those experiences were from overseas. If I had to put statistics to it, maybe 5% looked as advertised & worth it. The other 95% either looked nothing like their pictures, weren't worth the asking price, or ghosted / flaked the day of.
