One lady told me she had one like mine in junior high.

If your main phone (or tablet, etc) can act as a wifi hotspot, then you should be able to make wifi calls from a second phone (with no service).

This requires the second phone to be in close proximity to the primary one, and the primary one must be connected to a 3 g or 4 g data source.

But the primary phone has zero info stored about what you've sent through it. Your second phone has contacts, etc and can be password protected.

Having your old phone lying around might not look too suspicious.

Fellas, let me tell you about my ALL TIME FAVORITE! Miss Sarah from Chattanooga left me BREATHLESS. Not only is she legit, but she is TOTAL GFE! She is a recently divorced mom, educated, cultured, very artistic, quirky, compassionate, and all around just wonderful. Just wanted to make sure that you guys know that although Miss Sarah is NOT a clock watcher, and DID go way over time with me, it was due to extenuating circumstances with confusion on where we were in relation to the Eastern / Central Time Zones. Obviously, she can't do that every time with me, or anyone else. She is worth EVERY $$ in my dream!

All caller info is going to originate on your hobby phone, which is making the wifi call.

You should be able to use use any wifi connection you have available. Could be a hotel, could be McDonald's. We're just using the primary phone as a hotspot source because it's typically available wherever you are.

I'm probably getting a new phone in a few weeks, freeing up my old one for the hobby. I might do some tinkering then.

Then you can turn on wifi calling on your old phone and make wifi calls without paying for a second line of service. It connects through your primary phone, or via any other home or business wifi.

I haven't tried it yet, so I have no further details.
