It's not over
Whoa. Just saw that. I mean, if it is it's only a matter of time until something else takes its place. I imagine some other site that's NOT subject to US Government censorship will jump to take advantage of this very quickly.
Providence section hacked. Could be the Russians, Could be the Chinese or maybe some guy in his bedroom!
Providence section hacked. Could be the Russians, Could be the Chinese or maybe some guy in his bedroom!
Oh you're right. It is just Providence. That's weird as hell.
Edit: Nope. Providence may have been the first affected, but now it's elsewhere too.
Yes, she had told him that she said 125 in the text yet, no proof was shown.
I feel like I'm not understanding this right. You mean to tell me that a guy randomly stopped you as you were walking out and told you to go back up there and pay her more? Sounds like it was her boyfriend / pimp. Or theres a part of the story that's missing.
So is it over?
I'm actually surprised this hasn't happened sooner. Credit card companies are generally pretty strict with anything involving illegal activity. Hell, if anyone has been to any of the states with legal marijuana (Colorado / Washington), many of them will not accept credit cards because it remains illegal at the federal level.

CL has an STD, it's censored everywhere in the US, well that's my assumption. I clicked a ton to see.
So, now what?

So, now what?
I suppose some providers may just post their ads in the dating section for now. I'm sure an alternative will pop up before too long. How long was it after Craigslist's adult services section got shut down that Backpage took over?

Backpage
Very sad news tonight. All of BP adult section has been shut down by the government. Pisses me off. Why don't they focus on more important things like those damn terrorists!
Just checked So. Carolina censored as well.
It's everywhere, or soon will be. This is not hackers. This is the result of a ruling by our government.

Ruling?
It's everywhere, or soon will be. This is not hackers. This is the result of a ruling by our government.
It's not a government ruling so much as what they suggest in the link that BP provides as explanation. The Credit Card companies got unnerved by something the government was doing and decided to stop processing payments from providers posting listings. If that is the case then I do believe that this marks the end of backpage and its likely rebirth as some other site. This represents a great start-up opportunity for someone with ambition. Maybe Eros will start a low end version.
-
I can't imagine WHY you would ever go back up because some guy stopped you outside. Did he threaten you or something? Why didn't you just keep heading to your car and leave?
It seemed he wasn't the only one. I didn't know what he did or didn't have so I didn't take the chance. I ended up leaving.

Long time lurker, first post as I just see the BP is "censored" now.
Forgive me if I'm typing the obvious but just google Providence escorts and the one "live escort reviews " is still up with all the providers ads.
