Wow thats amazing, you have one hell of a lawsuit against the LEOs involved because they arrested you for nothing based on what you said. Not to mention most of not all of those stings are video recorded, so you have even more ammo to file a Federal civil rights suit. Unless you make a verbal statement or other action that indicates you are giving money to another in return for sex then they have nothing to charge you with. That is why an undercover female can not offer specifics out to entice you, but has to have you state or do things that verify that YOU are the one offering money for sex. If the undercover comes straight out and says I will do x for Y amount of money, she has enticed you to do something you normally would not do. (the definition of entrapment).

Now as far as your case being thrown out and sealed. I was not there so I can not say why, but I can say that most misdemeanor arrests in NY are ACD, or adjourned in contemplation of dismissal. That is if you do not have any kind of arrest history. Basically it says don't get in trouble in 6 months and the case is dropped and sealed. I tend to believe this is how the case was sealed and the charges dropped. Cops are like everyone else, you have bad and good but I highly doubt that you were arrested for saying you would like to meet a girl over the phone, never discussed money or services, was invited there, merely walked into the door and was immediately arrested. Not to mention the backup team with the survaelance equipment is generally next door waiting for the undercover to give the go signal to come in for the arrest. In NY the cops go to jail for arresting people for no reason.

Now we have your friend of mines, who was a cop and arrested merely for being in the area of a sting? Was this in NY also? Thats a lot of stings going on. So he beat all the charges? What charges? And sued everyone in sight? Where did this occur? Its very easy to research any cop getting arrested somewhere, as the press eats it up and theres always a huge paper trail. So just say the location and the date it occurred and its easy enough to find out what happened. It sounds more like maybe he was at his Aunts and a family member was being arrested and he interfered and was arrested. Thats just my guess but it makes a lot more sense that a cop just standing there minding his own business and being arrested because a block away there was a sting going down.

In closing if what you say is true that the 2 of you were so wrongly arrested, jailed and had your civil rights so badly violated, especially in a state like NY, you two would have hit the jackpot and won a ton from civil lawsuits that would have costs you nothing as there are tons of lawyers in NY that do these cases for a living, including the NY ACLU.

Lastly you state cops do not have to give a reason to arrest you. Well not quite. Once a person is arrested and secured and the situation is under total control the arresting officer must tell you why you are being arrested. He can not just say hes not telling you. He does not have to explain to you the basis for the arrest, but he does have to explain that to his supervisor, who verifys its a legitimation arrest and then to the Assistant state attorney or the assistant district attorney, who again must agree that probable cause that a crime exists and probable cause that the person arrested committed that crime.

You are right that no one should carry a gun unless they are ready to use it. Why would someone carry one if they are not? I personally don't carry a weapon but if I did and my safety was in jeopardy I would use it.

In closing any cop anywhere on any given day can flake someone and arrest them for no reason. With that said, it is very rare and far between. Do some of them stretch the truth, probably. Why? I will never understand, with all the evil out there, I am sure they can find someone breaking the law and deserves to be arrested. I just find it hard to believe that you and your friend were both arrested for absolutely nothing. The whole story would be so much more enlightening.

Does anyone here not believe you can be detained and perhaps arrested for just being in the wrong place? Come on, guys. Never underestimate the enthusiasm of LEO to accomplish their job right then. If you can be intimidated and never darken their door again, that works for them. If you show any resistance, verbal or otherwise, you can be arrested and you are the one who has to go to all the trouble to straighten out the situation. If they say you are guilty, you are until they either drop it or you get before a judge and think of all that entails. Say nothing other than your name and produce I'd if they ask. Anything more and you may have just set yourself up. Rights? You would have to assert them and even that will get you hauled depending on how busy they are and how much you have inconvenienced them. You would be well advised to know and have the # of an attorney with you if you practice this hobby.

The lawyers that were willing to take the case asked for large $$ and were not sure if they would win. Keep in mind these lawyers did not even bother going through the case.

I believe VS knows the case and its details I have even contacted him with all the details.

The charges were not even solicitation for prostitution. They were loitering and resisting a police officer without violence. The 2nd charge was because I kept my mouth shut so the officer you do not want to talk your obstructing my investigation. Of course. 2nd charge did not hold. The perscutor changed loitering to soliciting for prostitution. The laywer took it to jury court with a not guilty plea.

The officer who arrested me, talked to me and the girl. He says he will release me if I admit and tell him the truth! He did release the girl.
Most important conclusion do not talk. I had a very good video...

Invoke your right to remain silent and to seek counsel immediately, whether arrested or not, then keep you mouth closed. Provide I'd if asked and nothing more.

Looking back to that time in Denver I was a regular surfer and that was my only encounter with the cops, and yes the officer intemidated me quite well, at the time my mind was flashing to episodes of Cops where the officers tells the guy to be honest with him and he will take that into account, in my mind it was obivious what I was up to so I figured what hsrm could it do, so that is what I did. Maybe my luck was in part owed to the time we lived in back then things seem to be a lot different these days, an officers seem to not really give a shit about you.

I have spoken to my lawyer and he recommended a lawyer. I searched on-line for few more. I spoke on the phone to these lawyers, a couple of them without even saying the charges declined as they are busy! Few others without going through the documents declined just because it's prostition related. Few others accepted the case estimated costs range from 4000 to 10000 may be a bit more or less. They are not even sure if they can win the case. They did not even pull the case or the information. It was just a phone conversation.

Do you still think someone hit the jackpot? Civil lawyers mostly would take cases of social moral values, racism. Things that will make them feel good about themselves within phony society values, fanatic religious, .

If you are cable it is static doesn't change If you are DSL or dialup it changes. You can't be tracked but for instance this forum can be set up to record your IP address

You do need to be a little careful as to which email provider you use.

Some are offered for free, perhaps the ads pay for the service. Then again users of these must have something to hide so the temptation is there to find out why!

Here's the real solution, get a laptop with wireless go to a hotspot, McDonalds are free now. Each hotspot give you a different address so you can't be traced by IP. And dozens of people re- use the same address all day long.

The media loves to hype these sex trafficking stories because they sell. The other reason is to make their buddies the police look like good guys. Much of what you read in the media comes from the police. If the media doesn't play nice with the police, there go their sources.

The way for us as men to deal with this is to simply not patronize these places. As for AMPs, the women working there usually are not young and know exactly what is going on. They go from CA to NY and back to Asia then back to the US again. Girls who have been recruited by sex traffickers are never allowed to leave. They will look thin, drugged, sleep deprived and like they have been crying for days. If you see that, walk away and make a few calls. This is not about helping the police. It is about helping someone who can't help themselves.

You make a good point in that I made a lot of assumptions which is true. I made those based on the involvement of the Feds as opposed to the Polk County Sherrif. I don't it would be worth the Feds time just to shut down some rub-and-tug places. Plus the artcle mentioned movement from state to state. I would think you would need to be talking some serious cash to make that worthwhile, which again implies higher level organization.

I also agree with you about the asians, I'm not a big fan of AMPs.

I guess one take away is that for all its flaws we should all be thankful we live in the USA. I did a lot of work internationally before and one thing that stays in my mind is how cheap human lifes are in a lot of this world. I know Russians who will literally kill you if they don't like how you look at them. So when I see international trafficking ring my mind jumps to the worst possibilities.

In some articles, I see the two directly linked. While many in the lay public (ha! I said lay!) find them both abhorrent, it is because they fail to see the distinction.

I worry that this linkage will make the public turn against the victimless crime that we enjoy by blurring the two into a single entity.
