Re: Chances of infection and recovery from Covid-19
Numbers posted here are very. Unique.
My role in a large multi-state hospital system has me looking at metrics daily, which I've been doing since early March. We're in communication with the CDC, FEMA, and other agencies and other hospital systems as well.
IF you get Covid, there's a 15% chance of hospitalization.
Once you are in, there's a 20% chance of getting into an ICU and a 5. 7% chance of death.
People describe this virus as like the flu; a better description is like polio. You could be fine, but you could have a long recovery, and in many cases, especially if you wind up in a hospital, "recovery" statistics means long term damage.
Remember, this virus has no effective treatment (although remdisivir and also some steroids are showing some promise). Get it and you're playing Russian Roulette.
The CDC model of infection rate for a specific area is a good measure for modeling congruent with reopening via the CDC Playbook. Coming out of Phase 2 or Phase 3 too early results in increased infections (hello Florida and Texas).
What the skeptics overlook is that the danger of infection is not limited to oneself; since the symptoms do not present for two weeks (or never), you risk infecting everyone you contact until such time as you have tested positive and quarantined. By that time, it may be too late to help whatever friend or family members you have exposed to the virus. Sure, maybe you recover with "only" 50% diminution of lung capacity, but maybe your spouse or your parents don't survive at all.

As much as I wanted to hit the strip clubs when they re-opened, I hesitated. It's one thing to contract it, it's another to tell your friends and family where one contracted it.
If every week was Shark Week and it showed on all channels 24/7 people in Omaha would be afraid to take a bath.
They are making a big deal in Texas "RECORD NUMBER OF HOSPITALIZATIONS" (3,000 statewide) what they don't say is that there are 18,000 beds reserved for Covid and over 80,000 total staffed beds in the fucking state, but it's a RECORD NUMBER OF HOSPITALIZATIONS!
Just because something is the most doesn't mean it's a lot.
Trumps keeps taking this virus lighly because it hurts the bottom line for the rich. If a million dies 95% will be middleclass so it's easy to act like it no big deal like trumps did then hide in your bunker.
"There's no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you're in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it's not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face. " - Dr Anthony Fauci.
Reported cases are going up and yet day after day and week after week deaths keep going down but somehow this has nothing to do with increased testing. Maybe those people keep putting you down for being "concerned" because you keep calling them dickheads for asking questions about the glaring inconsistencies regarding the data with this "deadly" pandemic? It's ok for you to ignore doctors that are asking the same questions but we are just supposed to listen to the doctors that keep changing their minds?
It's all about the money? Thirty million fucking people lost their fucking jobs, for every 1% increase in unemployment 38,000 people die, there has been a 14% increase in unemployment so that's a half a million people but they don't mean shit because they aren't covid and it's only about money?
So far 400,000,000 people worldwide have been forced into extreme poverty because idiots like you can't take the time to find out that according to the CDC covid has a 99.74% overall survival rate (which explains why the daily deaths have been in decline) and somewhere around 20,000,000 of them are going to starve over the next year or two and the people who want to go to work are the jackholes?
You should be fucking ashamed for being such a sheeple. I can't fucking stand Trump but if this wasn't an election year this shit would have had 3 days in the news and then it would have been on to something else just like it was in 2018 when 90,000 fucking people died and you didn't even know it. Second wave my ass. Read, ask questions. There are nothing but holes in this covid story.
https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/fauci-masks-no-longer-needed/
You are citing an outdated quote from Dr. Fauci, from a 60 Minutes interview in March 2020. Per the article at the link provided, ".
In the March 2020 clip, Fauci said: "Right now in the United States people should not be walking around with masks. You should think of healthcare providers who are needing them and the people who are ill. ".
Since at least April 2020, the CDC recommended that everyone wear cloth masks in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19. That recommendation changed because of studies that found even people without coronavirus symptoms, but who may still have the disease, could transmit the virus through close interactions with others, especially through speaking, coughing, and sneezing:
In light of this new evidence, CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e. G. , grocery stores and Fauci also clarified in a June interview that masks are helpful ". But it's masks plus physical separation. " This is in line with the CDC guideline that, "The cloth face cover is not a substitute for social distancing. ".

If this pathogen, as you tried to say, was manufactured and weapon used to kill people, don't you think the survival rate would be significantly less than the 99.74% rate that Admin2 quoted repeatedly?
When "nature" kills off the WEAK, the disease will subside and disappear?? Where did you receive your health professional certification? In a cereal box? Tell that to the formerly healthy medical personnel who contracted it while treating sick people.
It never ceases to amaze me how many random people are suddenly experts on epidemiology, and are far greater experts on the subject than are the medical professionals who have devoted their careers to the study of disease. Bravo to you, sir! Who needs to waste time and effort pursuing and education when you have YouTube?! Smh.
