One Killed, One Wounded In Shooting Outside Bridgeport Bar

BRIDGEPORT— One man was fatally shot and another was wounded in a flurry of gunfire in the area of Bishop's Corner bar on Bishop Avenue early Sunday morning, police said.
Officers responding to a report of gunshots at 1:57 a. M. Found Shawn Parks. 37, of the Bronx, and Sherman Perry. 38, of Milford, inside a crashed car at 68 North Bishop Ave. Parks was the driver of the car. He was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the head and had to be extricated from the wreckage. Parks was pronounced dead at Bridgeport Hospital. Perry, the passenger, was wounded in the leg.
At the time of the shooting, Perry was free on $20, 000 bond in connection with two pending criminal cases, including a charge of possession with the intent to sell narcotics.
Witnesses told police the shooting stemmed from an altercation that took place inside Bishop's Corner, across the street from the location of the shooting.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau at 203-581-5201. Information will be kept confidential.
