You're paying for the rights. . . .
". . . it is not legal to pay for sex in a direct transaction (as opposed to paying by getting married, for example) UNLESS you are making a porno film. Then it's art, right?
You don't get paid for having sex or doing sex acts in a porn film. You are paid for the rights to the footage, so they can sell it.
It's actually legit . . . what real video company is going to pay you $5,000 for sex if they can't sell it? They don't need to pay girls for sex. They need girls to provide them with footage they can sell.
Think about women who did porn in the 70s or 80s who were paid $500 for the scene and it's still being sold today. Let's say Seka got $5,000 for a scene back in 1979. 30 years later, they're still selling that footage and they've made millions of it.
THAT'S what they're paying for and that's why it's legal.

We cannot really call this a FREE country until we decriminalize prostitution and drugs. Now THAT could be a great economic stimulus and save lots of LE dollars. It blows me away that I live in a country where prostitution, which is perfectly normal, is illegal, but circumcision, which is downright barbaric, is still legal. Go figure.
I'm just curious as to how many people on this forum would be willing to sign a petition to Congress to make some changes.
