I was in need of a friend and seen that my friend Nicole was looking for one herself. After chatting I decided it was time to visit upon my arrival to her house and barely walking in and her being behind the door, of course I had backed up in the doorway. Imagine my surprise as she had changed dramatically since her last pic. I wasn't sure at first what section to post this report. Decided here in Escorts since this girl, Red, isn't really a street walker and she not on CL. I want to post a review of a local dining establishment I visited this weekend. I made a reservation at Mattie's (Not Maddie's). From what I hear there is a big difference in the menu and service standards but to be honest I have not been to Maddie's. If anyone has a review of Maddie's I would be very interested in reading it. Well back to my review.

I made a reservation at Mattie's and had to wait 25 minutes past my reservation time before being seated. At this point I was not impressed and a little miffed. But alas, I was extremely hungry and had not made any back up options for another establishment so I forged on.

Upon entering, Mattie had me get comfortable and quickly set a relaxing atmosphere. Whether this was do to my long wait or is standard service I am not sure as this was my first visit but it did help to easy my frustration from the long wait.

I do want to say from the beginning that Mattie definitely provides a (G)ood (F)ood (E)xperience as advertised. The details of the meal are as follows.

She started the meal with a Deep French Dish appetizer. It was so good that you would have thought it was a Kiss. Very soft, supple and passionate. So many establishments have eliminated this from their menus that it was nice to see old school service again.

The next course was two very nice cups of java served in B sized cups. They were percolated perfectly as it seemed they stood straight out from their saucer. It may have been the caffeine content effecting me but I swear they were two of the most responsive and sensitive cups I have ever had. I must say that I am a heavy coffee drinker and usually go for larger size cups but two cups of this java was exactly what the doctor ordered.

It was about this time that I seemed to forget all about my 25 minute wait to be seated.

After finishing with the two cups of java, I was more than ready to try the southern portion of the menu. As I worked my way down to this menu item I did notice that the middle of Mattie's menu is stocked with some extra calories. Not so much as to make you want to stop with the meal but enough to make you pause for a moment as the rest of the menu seemed to be fit and trim. I asked her about this and she said that her dietitian and made a change in her additives and that she was working with him to get it corrected. Time will tell I guess but please be aware that there is a little extra (Not a lot) calorie content in the middle of the menu.

When I arrived at the southern portion of the menu I must say that I was surprised to see that is was well covered with garnishment. Some may even say very well covered and in need of trimming back on the presentation. As my nick name indicates I pretty much open for anything but for those that prefer little or no garnishment, this establishment may not be for you. But if you are into an over abundance of garnishment you will be in heaven. You may want to ask about the garnishment before making a reservation as I did not inquire about it as it was not a concern to me.

Once I was past the garnishment I was greeted with a very nice, lean, clean and fresh plate of southern food. I spent a very long time savoring the sweet southern taste, so much so that Mattie told me twice how extremely happy she was with the way I ate this course of the meal. Whether that was just trying to please the guest or a real compliment I am not sure but it sounded very sincere to me. Wishful thinking on my part? Maybe, but hey I enjoyed it so that is all that really matters isn't it. LOL.

I was also pleasantly surprised to be able to enjoy a small portion of rump roast. This little gem was also lean, clean and very tasty.

This is when the meal really got exciting for me. Mattie asked me what I thought of the menu. I told her that it was a fine menu and included all of the usual menu items. I then told her that as a connoisseur I am always looking for unusual and exotic menu selections. She then told me that she was not an expert in off the menu items by any means but was always willing to try and please the customer.

Given the fact that she indicated that she was not well versed in off the menu items I did not go to any extremely exotic selections but I did ask for one of my favorite off the menu items and she said that she would gladly try to prepare it for me.

I can not honestly say it was the best I ever experienced but I will say that given her inexperience and short notice she did a wonderful job with the off the cuff preparations. We did agree that the next time I visit she will have some of my favorite entrees saved in the kitchen for me.

By this time we were both ready for the grand finale. I asked what her preferred preparation was for this course as I felt I should finish my meal that way after all that she had done for me. She told me her MISSION was customer satisfaction and that is how she finished the meal for me. As with the entire dining experience, I was very satisfied.

In summary, I was very impressed with the menu and quality of service given the reasonable pricing structure. As you can see I chose the full service dining package which came to 16 bits and has an estimated dining time of an hour but I can say that I never felt rushed or that I was anything other than a valued customer. Also, neither of us even looked at the clock during my meal. The phone rang once, Mattie did not answer it and immediately turned the phone to silent. Again making me feel like a valued client.

For those of you in a hurry Mattie does offer a fast food abbreviated menu for 12 bits. Expected meal time one half hour.

For those of you not familiar with vintage pricing,

two bits = .25

eight bits = 1.00.

Last but not least, Mattie did not present the check or even discuss the check payment until the meal was over. As pleased as I was by this, I had to inquire about this as 99% of the industry requires payment up front with no guarantees of quality or service.

Her response to my inquiry was that she was comfortable with me from the moment we met and did not feel the need to address the issue. She did say that this is not the norm.

I am assuming that the 25 minute delay in seating me played a large part in this decision. Still it made me feel good (which does not happen often in this industry).

Even though there was the one glitch, I feel that she was very successful in her efforts to over come that incident.

For all of the diners that are concerned with Leo the local health inspector, leave your worries at home as it appears that Mattie runs a clean and quiet establishment.

All in all I was very impressed with Mattie's place. I will partake again in the near future.
