Note: What some visitors or those new in town may not fully understand is that many of these joints are openly controlled by the mob and are completely under the shameless protection of friendly local government officials on their payroll, including the Clark County prosecutor's office, state and local judges, many officers in the Las Vegas Metropolitain Police Dept, a U.S. Senator who as Senate minority leader is now the highest ranking member of his political party in the entire nation, and their very special good pal the mayor of Las Vegas, and the only reason there was ever any consequence at all for anyone connected to this place is that there were so many tourists stomped on, crippled, and killed on the premises that the body count eventually managed to get the attention of [I][B]Federal[/b][/I] prosecutors.

Guys need to understand that if you end up in a Vegas clip joint that pads your tab with outrageous phony charges you are completely on your own escaping with your health and wealth somewhat inctact. Unless you can find a way to make a Federal case out of it, police, prosecutors, courts, and government officials in Clark County Nevada, who are installed in office by the union thugs controlling one of the political parties, will not help you at all; they will laugh over your body as they collect their little cut of the action from these goons. This is the real mob, sadistic loser psychopaths, who are not at all like the cute funny mobsters you might like to watch on cable TV. These guys, the real ones, have the brains of a toaster and they torture for fun and kill you for nothing. -W

Those same sadistic loser psycopaths you describe would have put a couple of bullets in the back of the head of that 17 year old mongrel bastard, deposited his body on mama's D and Washington federally subsidized housing project front porch, and saved Metro's token minority McCurdy a lot of "splainin" about how two veteran homicide detectives simultaneously placed two fatal bullets in the back of a juvenile.

Here is a hint of what can happen to unwary tourists who let themselves get delivered to one of the mobbed up places in town. Visitors will do themselves a big favor if they glance through the content of some of these links, then decide for themselves how much they think today's local Vegas mobsters resemble that cute clever funny bunch of friendly actors you see on TV shows, and decide whether you think it's worth the bother to take the time to read the advice in this thread on how to avoid them when you're looking for a good time.

This is a very small sample at just one such place which happens to have very friendly business and personal relationships dating back decades with the current mayor of Las Vegas, but there are hundreds of these incidents at dozens of joints in town. If this isn't your idea of a good time, please read through this thread so you won't be their next pigeon. Post #1 at the beginning of this thread would be a sensible place to start, and it would be wise to continue at least as far as the link in post #9 before you head out on the town.

Well, don't let me get to you, take a look for yourself at the factual public record of what these guys actually do and who they do it to and for what. But I didn't really picture you as someone getting into a cab at the airport and innocently asking the hack where your wad of bills should go to find a good time. There are times when I feel a romanticized nostalgia for the old wiseguy system too, but it seems to me these days they just aren't making the goombahs the way they used to. Didn't the rule used to be that nobody was allowed to get dead in Vegas who wasn't supposed to, and even then you planted the stiff in a hole somewhere closer to Baker than Binion's? Just how much of that colorful old days mythology was true, or not, I really couldn't say for sure, but I know that any rationalization of the twisted pathological behavior of the current sub-human mutants and their cockroach errand boys, such as Goodman, et.al., is just incomprehensibly sick.

I do wonder to what extent this daily (yes it is daily, ask Jim who runs the auto body place next to Rizzolo) clip-joint tourist stomping is a uniquely Vegas thing. I don't hear about it happening in other places, but then I'm not often going to Cleveland or Columbus in search of a good time. I hear about financial scams such as credit card fraud from some of the same goons in Atlanta and NY and Florida, but not the routine beatings of customers with the bloody body count.

If it is mostly a Vegas thing, I'll speculate: that maybe it's becuase people make themselves easier marks as they tend to suspend their normal cautious skepticism when they come to this town; that a hundred-thousand fresh pigeons landing at McCarran Airport daily make it possible to operate on a business model that doesn't depend on repeat customers; and that the attitude of the town's gullible populace tolerates it's law enforcement, judiciary, and other public officials being low-rent junior partners of really slimy scumbags to a much greater extent than elsewhere, so sadistic psycho-creeps can operate without fear of the normal consequences and bottom feeding thugs know they are protected so long as their name ends in a vowel.

We'll see what happens to the CH2 liquor license. Is murder, committed to steal someone's loose change, repeated again and again, enough to get your liquor license pulled? It sure is if you are (or were) the Four Aces bar on the north end of town. Let's see if that's so when you are Rizzolo. I predict he will be "fined" about $2M and promptly pay it out of petty cash, and also continue to cheerfully pay the Mayor's private law firm a high seven figure annual retainer for miscellaneous unspecified "legal services" but that the body count of dead tourists and rack of bloody baseball bats with brain material stuck to them will not cost him a liquor license in Las Vegas.

BTW, it sounds like C.32 played it pretty sharp. Cash out your equity at the absolute peak of a cyclical crazed speculative feeding frenzy in local residential property, use a part of your California sucker's money to buy a comfortable pad in one of the most reasonably priced real estate markets in the nation, and enjoy a comfortable retirement on the fat chunk of change you have left from the transaction, with affordable hot tamales available for rent daily just over the border. I have a similar retirement-escape plan in mind, except mine involves brushing up on Bisayan and Tagalog instead of Spanish, and the employment of a full time housekeeper/cook/nurse. Just a difference in personal taste, and timing.

What's with Metro lately? I keep watching the on-line KLAS feeds out here and I'm amazed. You would think they would be better shots by now! I see Metro is outpacing L.A. now as well.

Maridee said she just controlled her anger as the two lay down in their bedroom. She then approached the two and stood in front of them. Relao left and Ronald went to sleep.

Maridee said she couldn’t sleep that night, mad at how her husband had the gall to bring another woman home. Early the next morning, she took a knife from the kitchen and cut his sex organ.

Ronald woke up screaming. The two fought. The noise caught the neighbors’ attention. The neighbors alerted the police.

Maridee said it was not the first time her husband had an affair. She once caught him dating another woman. But he banged her head against the wall.

She also learned lately that her husband was seeing another woman. Last Sunday’s incident confirmed her doubts.

Insp. Mario Monilar, chief of the homicide section, said they could not yet determine Jesus’ status because as of yesterday afternoon he was still at the operating room of the Perpetual Succour Hospital.

Babylonia, 54, gave herself up to responding policemen, who turned her over to the homicide section for investigation.

In an interview with Sun.Star Cebu, Babylonia said she did not regret attacking her husband.

She has been planning to kill her husband for leaving her for another woman.

She saw the opportunity yesterday while he was busy making plans for a house he would build for their son at the barangay proper.

“Wala ko magmahay. Dili ko magmahay og unsay kaagian sa akong kinabuhi. Nagmahay lang ko og nganong wala maputol ang iyang ulo (I don’t care what happens to me now. My only regret is that his head didn’t fall off),” Babylonia said.

Babylonia and Jesus have been living separately for eight months now.

The barangay captain reportedly left their house and moved in to their daughter’s house in the neighboring Sitio Tagaytap, Adlaon.

“Nibarag na siya unya usban pa unta nako mibabag naman akong anak ug mga tawo, (He staggered and I wanted to hit him again but they held me),” Babylonia said.

Monilar said Babylonia will be charged with frustrated parricide. The complaint will be filed today.

Oh - it takes more than once for you? I didn't hear of the one you posted but, over the years, I have heard of a few - not just involving Filipinos tho'. Some of the SE Asian countries have a few clip-joint type of lovelies as well.

Actually, after having spent a lot of time there, shacking up in-country for six months at a stretch, my judgement is that I'm a LOT less likely to run into any kind of malicious violence in the PI, from any source, than in Las Vegas. Plenty of smiling scammers, but not so many bloody messes. On the other hand, I'm a lot more likely to croak early in the PI from bad food or water or a really weird disease that much of the world has never heard of, a leaky ferry boat breaking apart and sinking me into the South China Sea, a typhoon or landslide washing me away, or to suddenly become a hood ornament on a jeepney while trying to cross the street.

Has anyone else had a problem with a massage parlor called Sensations in Vegas? It's off the strip on South Tropicana. A cab driver took me there; I've had good luck with cab driver tips in the past. Anyway, this place required a "consultation" fee and then a fee for the massage, and the masseuse kept asking me to pay some more to add another woman or to get more intimate or to move to another room. I could hear other men in other rooms reacting similarly to me, saying "I feel like I'm being ripped off." None of this ever happened, so finally I just left, with my wallet much lighter. Of course there's no recourse, I mean what would I tell the cops? That I was promised sex and then didn't get it? Just a warning to anyone to whom this place is recommended. It is a RIPOFF joint!

I like visiting Vegas and one of the standard rules is not to go where a cab driver suggests. The vast majority of the time they will take you to a rip off joint. You were lucky, some places will have bouncer type toss you out on your ass the minutes you get upset because you realize you are getting ripped off.

The rip off joints know you really can not go to the cops, or at least will be very scared to turn to them for help.

They don't have to do any sex work, by the time they have sent you through
the doors that lock from the inside-you are outside next to your car!

Because prostitution is legal in most of Nevada, a lot of people mistakenly believe that prostitution is legal in Las Vegas. It's kind of an urban legend, or at least a widely spread rumor. And that's the setup for these ripoff joints and the escort ads that are handed out on the strip 24/7. The unwise tourist thinks prostitution is legal and that he's gonna get some action. The ripoff joint reinforces this mistaken belief with false, nonspecific promises (like "for $500 you get EVERYTHING!") for as long as the "mark" will keep spending money. When the mark starts to get suspicious they get the boot along with a sternly delivered warning that prostitution is illegal. Worse yet, the legal brothels that are only about an hour drive from Las Vegas are not permitted to advertise in Las Vegas because their services aren't legal there. So some tourists never figure it out.

Sunday night myself and some friends wanted some decent DD $5 min BJ...ie not any Harrahs properties. So we cabbed to Slots a Fun to get drunk and play some BJ. On the way the cabbie asked if we wanted to go to a strip club. I told him, "No thanks. No kickback for you tonight." He immediately got on his cell and called his buddy...the conversation was in some random eastern euro language and went some thing like this "adjhf djh kadkjd kickback ajdf hsjk fhjkd hjkas" which roughly translated probably is "I just picked up some son of a beetch tourist who knows about the kickbacks". We all laughed...he asked how I knew about that stuff, and I told him its pretty well known on internet sites.
