Wonder if some event triggered this move.[/QUOTE]I don't know about that specific property at that particular time, but sometimes the event that triggers this for a while is simply a large convention that causes a problem with people from a neighboring property poaching on the parking to such an extent that registered guests can't get in. I know that in some cases it's even the employees that contribute to the problem when they don't want to use the more remote surface lot like they're supposed to at some properties.

I have mixed feelings about the whole business too, depending on whether I want to sleep well at night or am looking to do the opposite. Comes down to using good judgement I think. Besides the everyday mundane misbehavior and some criminal stuff that's bound to happen to some extent in a 5,000 room 24 hr casino/resort, I'd like to believe that Akmed Al'Kaboom would have a few questions to answer when pulling in with a Ryder truck full of fertilizer, as I'd take it personally if someone imploded any part of the town ahead of schedule and incinerated some of my neighbors in the process.

Wierd to think that we could be a target of these wackos but taking out a big Vegas hotel would look good for the terror freaks both international and our own home breed wackos the religious right is just as likely to pull something off in there deranged minds Sin City is a target. Hopefully and thankfully Vegas is well aware that they can not afford any kind of attack, tourism is such a huge part of Vegas any succesful attack would hurt Vegas for years. Vegas tries to make it's visitors feel safe by piling on visible security everywhere, and responding to any problems on the Strip with a huge priority, when you have a town that never sleeps and millions of people with large sums of cash walking around at all hours Security is a major issue. I feel safe everytime I am in Vegas, I thank my monger skills for knowing which part's off town are seedy, which in turn keeps me out of trouble. Only a true local knows every street and which to avoid I am thankful for all the advice everyone gives, I do have a question about the new residential mix properties going up closer to the stratosphere end of the strip I would assume LE activity is picking up there to clean up the area, might not be the case but just checking.

Its been like that for at least a few years. They have a small parking lot and only let registered guests park there. Seems kinda odd and contrary to standard business practices really. I find the best thing to do in that area of the strip is to park at any of the following:

Valet

Imperial Palace - smallish casino and really easy to cross through the casino out to the strip.

Mirage - Long ass walk from the parking lot to the other end of the casino, but super easy access to the strip by passing the poker room, cpk, and the tiger display. Very safe parking lot

Bellagio - They will check your trunk. Parking is VERY close to the casino. Lots of eye candy and very safe. Easy to access the strip by walking across the casino and using the bridges. Once you get to the bridges, its a 10 minute walk to Mirage and vice versa.

One lot to be avoided is Venetian. That place is freaking humongous and it will take you forever just to get from your parking spot to the strip.

After browsing the Las Vegas forum for a while I was not shure what I would end up paying or how to not get ripped off by an escort service.

Used the Craigslist to find a provider. Got the price to .2k with ease. How ever - had not seen her face.

When I opened my hotel door - behold: an ebony gem! She was an absoute 9. Nice firm rack and killer RE. We laughed and fooled around with her stripping. Gave me the best CBJTC to this date. Did RCG and DS. Very nice.

So - paying more than .2k in this city is not neccessary. And roaming for overpriced CG seems futile.

Huge story on Fox 13 News about InCall Apts around town. They call it "Girls Next Door" or something or another. Hidden spy cameras and all. Talk about having a heart attack seeing yourself spotlighted on the news coming out of an inconspicuous wh_re house in town. They showcased one of the more popular spots a lot of us are familiar with -- it's no wonder they suddenly moved locations recently.

The reporter said they are going to start investigating more thoroughly to see if any of these places are linked to organized crime and such. You can expect more and more (LE affiliated) stings in weeks to come I assume. I would lay low for a while if I were you.

This has been popping up in cities around the country. I think this little public relations puff piece in the local lefty rag City Life last week gives some unintentional insight into why and how this is getting attention, both here and elsewhere. Some "progressive-feminist" activist groups and publicly funded "victim advocate" professionals are latching on to incall services and characterizing this as an issue of "slavery" and "violence against women." Whether there actually is some of that involved, I really wouldn't know, since I don't know much about the workings of the incall business, but I do know the origin of the money and the spin used in this approach comes from Clinton's "Violence against Women Act" which began the flow of a boatload of money to publicly subsidize positions for hundreds of highly paid "victim advocates" around the country recruited from feminist pressure groups and the chronically underemployed from college sociology and women's studies departments, who now have a lot of time on their hands seeking to find "exploited victims" to be "helped" by them to keep the gravy train of money flowing to those whose profession is to be permanently outraged in public.

Do you ever wonder if any of those government-sponsored announcements and initiatives make a difference? When it comes to the problem of human trafficking in Nevada, there's some good news.

Since the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced last February that Las Vegas is one of 17 cities suspected of being a hotbed for modern slavery, coalitions formed, grant money flowed and agencies have scrambled to attack the problem. For instance, during the 2005 session the state Legislature passed Senate Bill 456, which places stricter penalties on the existing involuntary servitude law, essentially criminalizing human trafficking.

"It's great that there's a law criminalizing it, but as a victim's advocate, I think the piece that would offer protection to victims is missing," says Namju Cho, communications and policy director for the Coalition to Abolish Slavery & Trafficking (CAST) of Los Angeles.

CAST was one of many organizations represented at the Nevada Coalition Against Sexual Violence's fifth annual conference. The 7-year-old state coalition offers training opportunities for people in jobs who meet victims of sexual violence, like police, attorneys, doctors, community organization members and others.

Human trafficking was a major focus of this year's conference in which Cho, accompanied by survivor Flor (who asked to only use her first name out of fear of retribution), made presentations during several sessions of the three-day event from Jan. 30 to Feb. 1.

"It is an emerging issue in Nevada," says Terri Miller, a coalition training services coordinator who planned this year's conference. "We want to make sure that these issues are being taken seriously."

Miller says Cho and her colleagues at CAST have played an important part in educating Nevada government agencies, law enforcement and community groups who may come in contact with victims. This year was the fourth time CAST had participated in the conference, which usually draws around 90 participants. (In fact, one such participant this year was state Sen. [and Democratic gubernatorial candidate] Dina Titus.)

Miller has also represented Nevada on the national level. She was present at the White House on Jan. 9 when President Bush signed the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2005, which allocates $361 million for the next two years for programs fighting human trafficking.

According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, trafficking victims are involuntarily exploited for profit. It is not the same as immigrant smuggling. Victims are found in nearly all service industries around the world including construction, prostitution, manufacturing, restaurant and domestic labor industries. Las Vegas' sudden trafficking boom is tied to its population growth, tourism and entertainment industries. Locally, the most common forms of trafficking are for prostitution (many victims are younger than 18 and moved in brothel rings from state to state) and construction work.

Cho says the sexual violence coalition's work is a good sign for Nevada, but more needs to be done. Through CAST, Cho helped write California's new human trafficking law and she hopes it will serve as a model for other states, including Nevada. And if one of her conversations with a local law enforcement officer is any indication, Nevada legislators will be adding more provisions to protect victims in the next session.

"There's always those issues of how we enforce it," Cho says. "We need to collect better data. We need to find them [the victims] because they're invisible."[/i]

I'll be staying out there in march at the Barcelona. I'm in town for the NASCAR race, and I figured I would stay closer to the track.

Now, I already know the Barcelona is a s***hole, but I figured maybe there would be some "trailer trash" staying there looking to make a few extra bucks to buy her favorite "Dale Jr." t-shirt.

Way back in '97 I picked up this doped up crack w***e at (brace yourselves) the Clubhouse Tavern. She needed a place to stay for the nite and in return I got to do things with/ to her that would make a porn star blush!

Anyway, just wondering if you guys had any input??

Don't worry, I'm coming back out in april and I already have my reservations for HOOTERS. I'm going to try and get a "bridge girl" or a CW to come back to the room and put on a HOOTERS girl outfit while we go at it!!

I like that sleazy joint, even if I'm not sure exactly why. I was meaning to post something about it, especially after I scored a twofer with a pair of (sort of) non-pro sisters there last year who were recent arrivals in town running low on rent and gambling money. I guess the accommodations can't be all that sleazy, since the sign on the hotel says it's AAA approved, right?

Wonder how the residents of the nearby ghetto type housing projects who go to drink and play the slots while listening to the band that does covers of old Motown tunes several nights a week will mix with the NASCAR groupies?

Later you can let me know about the food in the little diner in the casino. Looks like it might be a spot to get some cheap slop while out chasing hookers late at night, but I haven't gotten around to trying it.
