There are way more of us than there are of them, so its easier for them to have a meaningful impact that way, and its easier on them too. Take AMP's for example, all they have to do is send in an undercover guy, and when he gets offered services they have all the evidence they need. But to bust us in the same situation? They have to bust in at just the right time, or have cameras recording inside the place (requires business cooperation). If they stop you on the way in, maybe you've got some cash and a condom on you, but you still haven't done anything at that point so having the items by itself isn't a crime. If cops bust one monger no one really cares, but if they shut down a business that was operating illegally as a brothel then its a "positive" thing for the community and gives them a win on the evening news.

I've often wondered why you don't see more LEO involvement in this hobby. There are so many opportunities for busts that are literally free, yet no action is ever taken. Take AHC for example, everyone who follows this board at all knows you can show up and get FS with no effort at all. People on this board talk about it so openly all the time and don't even make the slightest attempt to be discreet about it, but nothing happens. Why? For a few reasons. Firstly, its not a violent crime and outside of the potential for some human trafficking no one is really getting hurt by it. Secondly, most of society is largely oblivious that its going on. Finally, lack of resources. Given the social climate we're in, most police departments are understaffed and have to be selective about where they funnel resources.

I feel like as long as you avoid a few specific situations its easy to dodge LEO.

1. Avoid streetwalkers entirely.

2. Avoid the shitbag locations like Knights Inn that are known hotspots for this type of activity and others (drugs) that would also attract LEO.

3. Be careful with any girl advertising themselves as "young".

Those things are the low hanging fruit and are the easiest things for cops to catch you with. As long as you aren't causing a disturbance or openly advertising what you're doing you are mostly fine.

LE can install cameras surreptitiously without the cooperation of the business as long as they get a warrant. Look at the Robert Kraft case for example. Is it likely? No, as long as they stay under the radar and don't generate complaints from the citizenry. Even then, as you said, they largely target the staff and not the customers. Although again, the Robert Kraft case shows it is possible.

I think that's why there has been less activity on the AMP busts because they basically do now have to send in undercover guys to get traction.
