This will sound like a rant, but does anyone know what this "Additional Ads" business is on BackPage? Say you go the the Boston escorts section and type in "fetish" into the search box. You get the following page.

Newest ads are on top, then the older ones are below that. So far, so good. But then as you go down the page, you come to the phrase "Additional Ads" in big bold letters, and the process starts all over. Newest ads first, then older ones below that. Why is this break needed? What is the difference between the ads above "Additional Ads" and the ones below it? Why can't all the ads be combined?

I believe when a free ad is posted, it lands on the top but within a short time it drops down to 'additional ads' (getting less exposure because it was free) When an ad is paid for, it remains in place with other paid ads landing above it. Make sense?
