This is an interesting topic
I can understand if you have a personal connection with a provider and maybe the relationship has evolved into more than a business / hobbist role or you believe the provider is new or young and needs to be protected from questionable characters.
My approach is if the provider has decided to pursue this as a profession, they are like most businesses for profit and the best form of advertising is word of mouth or recommendation by satisfied customers. The cool thing about this approach is it works both ways, if for some reason the services are sub-par, then it can hurt their business if the word get's out from other customers, free enterprise works here too.
One of the reasons I entered into the hobby, is the hunt and finding the illusive gem that turns into an incredible experience. I have and will see a provider more than once, but life is short and there are so many opportunities, shapes, sizes and personalities I have yet to meet. If every guy was satisfied with the status quo, there would be less providers.
Obviously, we all have different things motivating us into the hobby, but unless you provide no feedback / reviews it would be difficult to know who is rude or questionable. I am sure there are senior members that fit into both of these descriptions.
It is like protecting a fox from another fox, just because a senior member says so, does not make it reality, IMHO.
