So I'm not the most active on this site, but I saw a girl the other day. As I was leaving a few blocks away I was pulled over by Cincinnati's finest. Pulled me over for whatever bs vehicle reason. As I'm sitting while the run my I'd iwas approached by vice. I said I wanted an attorney and they gave me a phone number to contact them after I've spoken to my attorney and let them know if I would like to lone up as a witness or suspect.
I'm honestly a little shaken by all this and I'm obviously going to speak to an attorney. I just need to know if this has happened to any of you before and what came of it?
I'm really spinning my wheels here trying to figure everything out. Any advice you can all give me would be really appreciated.
They didn't arrest you or threaten you with arrest did they?
What is the potential crime?
Sounds to me like they were fishing.
I've gotten the stink eye from lurking popo in a few notel parking lots but nothing like you've described.

If this happened you would have been told for what crime / offense they wanted you to defend or help prosecute. The biggest, really, is the fact that deal making would be done downtown not through a car window. If vice had any evidence to suspect you of, they would have made things miserable for you because they do not have the time to stop by to talk via car windows.

I've gotten the stink eye from lurking popo in a few notel parking lots but nothing like you've described[/QUOTE]That's the thing that has me baffled. There was no threat made. No talk of arrest. Just asked if I was willing to answer some questions, and when I said I would like to have an attorney they pretty much left.
That doesn't seem to mesh with what I've heard about how they operate.
I was told a story about a bust in a northern suburb. Two ladies we'll call A and B were working out of a northern suburb notel. A had a date who was busted as he left the room and Vice charged in and took A's phone. They tried to take B's phone also but she put up a lot of resistance and they had nothing on her so they told her to get out. From A's phone they saw she had 2 more dates that afternoon and they made her keep them. They told her she would not be charged if she cooperated with them. Each time the john left after the date he was busted. And they would take him back to the room for A to identify. They would also ask the john what her name was. They had her drivers license and the john only had her work name from her ad.
I'm not an expert opn how they operate but it would seem strange to me that they pull him over on a BS auto charge and then start talking about soliciting charges.

I agree. The sheer fact that you said you wanted to talk to your attorney, and they didn't officially charge you with anything, says it was a phishing expedition, and an attempt to get you to say or do something to incriminate you (most likely). But you stood your ground.
Yes, they have your info, but they have a lot of people's info, on a lot of things. Nothing new about that. So I would agree. I wouldn't loose too much sleep over this, and just move on.

My burner of 7+ years bit the dust. Was the most basic phone you could buy. Do they require any personal data these days when activating a new burner? Any info is appreciated. It's been a long while since I last did this. Be safe BB69.

No personal data was required of me last time I bought one. Last couple times I've bought phones, I got them at chain drug stores like Walgreens.

If you are comfortable having the app on your phone, I think it's a much better route. I've used it for two years with little to no hassles. I even started using it to make calls recently with providers that don't text. I'm very happy with it. You just need an email address to sign up, I created one just to download the app and never used it again.

The ads are small and don't take over your screen. Works great.
