Looks like there is some kind of upsurge in the scams on advertisers on CL.

These are some of the few that happened recently.

Be cautious.

I know someone who got ripped off by her for the ol "Babysitter Ploy". Its one of the oldest scams out there. She says, "I need $30 bucks for the sitter, while we go have fun". Of course she needs the money up front to pay the sitter and then disappears. In all my years of hiring sitters, I've always paid them at the end of the day / night.

Contacted a CL ad, as posted below she tried that on me but the postings on here alerted me to the potential scam. Had some fun with her asking all kinds of little questions and then crickets.

They all went in the house, and she came out and met me, taking me in to her room, through this group of guys she says are her roommates. I really felt unsafe, but she talked me into staying. There ended up being no problem, but it was still very uncomfortable, and I spent the whole time imagining getting beat up before I left.

Would this happen to be her? I was chatting with her earlier yesterday. She asked to call, I did and could hear her friend in the background. Initially I thought it was Destiny. I have been trying for two weeks to set up time with a Springfield lady. I got off work early Thursday and made a call. She asked if I was interested in a hh with her and a friend.
