We just try to put the damn thing together by dead reckoning. There are several things on the homepage which seem to be continually overlooked by newcomers. The 22 rules, Abbreviations, etc. When I first stumbled on this site I was looking for specific info, so I read back about one year on the relevant topic threads. Reading through those posts gave me an idea of how things worked here. I'm not suggesting that all new arrivals go to that extreme, but when a guy's first two posts are seeking info, it would indicate that he just jumped in and didn't attempt to get a feel for the place at all. Thus their surprise at the ensuing sh*t storm which often follows.

There are many senior members that won't give any info (from your post or pm) if you haven't submited any reviews. But the true frustration. And it will earn you sarcastic responses. Is when a question is asked for info on someone that has been reviewed and discussed a GAZILLION times already on the board. If you have a good and legitate question, you can usually get it answered. But in most cases you can find your answer already posted in the forum.
