I am new to the hobby and am have been monitoring here, TER, etc. For some time and I finally got up the guts to reach out to a well reviewed provided. I was denied because I do not have any provider references or reviews. Any suggestions on how I can solve this problem? Thanks.

You will find in the results a lot of advice both from hobbyists and some of our top providers on how to break the ice on this. Hope this helps.

Say your new. They can usually tell a legit newbie from a fraud. No disrespectful behavior at ALL. Don't ask about services or cost, read her reviews and take it as a man if it don't work out. There's so much more but that would take several years to explain. And please remember, she is not capable of having feelings for you, be careful with your emotions.

From there you can expand your list to just about anyone on the board.

Be good to them, write a review and you might even get a nice note back. Good luck

Another question, many ads don't list services or associated costs. How / when is it appropriate to ask because many providers say no explicit talk, etc?

I am not sure what you think this is but let me make this clear, we are a literary club just sharing ideas on our works of fiction.

Never ask about services. That is illegal. Donation is for time only. You may ask about that. This is simple. If a lady asks a donation of, say, 137 M&M's for 57 minutes of her time then you walk in the room, put 137 M&M's on the table in an envelope, sit down and talk for 57 minutes. When the time is up you walk out the door. Got it?

I also set a limit on what I am willing to donate. I never dicker on suggested donation but if the lady wants more for her time than my limit I politely thank her and wish her well.

All that said, you do have to do your homework. Google the phone number and pics and use TinEye on pics, too. Expect to have a few bad experiences. You have to be willing to pay some dues. Don't do stupid stuff.

It is time for you to make an appointment with a lady and write a review.

Gentlemen,

During this holiday season, thought I would share a moment of thanks with the board. Even with all the drama, we have one of the better boards in the country.

To illustrate: in October, I visited a city in western NY, patronized some local talent, and posted my results to the local page. A month later, I re-visited that same city, and the process was repeated. Upon posting my latest results, I found that I was the last post on that city's board! How lame that a visitor contributes more often than the locals?

So during this time of thanks, allow me to say thank you to my fellow mongers. You guys make the Orlando board worthwhile.
